We join with you in prayer in the name of Jesus for your loved one as she walks through this important final year and as she attends her matric ball tonight, and we thank you for asking in that precious name by which we have access to the Father.
We are reminded of what is written in John 14:6 that Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We rejoice that you have come in that name.
We pray for her final year, that God would grant her wisdom, diligence and peace as she completes her studies. We ask the Lord to guard her mind from anxiety and to help her commit her work to Him. As it is written in Proverbs 16:3 Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. And in James 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. We ask for clarity of mind, strength to persevere, and guidance for the future path God has for her, for we know in Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.
For tonight we lift up her matric ball before the Lord. We pray for safety in travel and throughout the evening, for godly choices and for a joyful time that honors Him. We pray that she would be clothed in modesty and dignity and that her beauty would shine from a gentle and quiet spirit that is precious in God's sight, as taught in 1 Timothy 2:9 and 1 Peter 3:3-4. We pray for protection from temptation, from alcohol and impurity and from any pressure to conform to the world, and that she would stand firm as a light for Christ among her peers. We pray in Philippians 4:6-7 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
Father, we bring this young woman before Your throne of grace in Jesus name. Cover her with Your hand tonight, keep her safe going out and coming in as You promise in Psalm 121:7-8, let Your joy be upon her, and let this evening be remembered with thankfulness and purity. Bless the work of her hands in these final months of school, grant her favor with teachers, focus in her studies, and peace about what lies beyond. Lead her in Your perfect will for her life and draw her ever closer to You. We cast all our cares upon You because You care for us, as written in 1 Peter 5:7.
