Nothing is so pleasing to God as a spirit that gives thanks, and you do well to confess that you are nothing without Him. Yet let this recognition not lead you to despair but to a continual remembrance of His mercies. In all things give thanks, for by this we serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear; even trials are a gift when they draw us nearer to Christ. Do not murmur as the Israelites did, but rather consider that the love of Christ surpasses all tribulation, and neither death nor life nor any power can separate us from that love if we cling to it. God created all things by Jesus Christ, and His providence orders all for our good; trust in Him for daily bread and do not seek more than is needful, lest you fall into temptation. Let your heart be always mounting upward to Him in thanksgiving, for He needs nothing from us, but in giving thanks we grow closer to Him. Therefore, continue your prayer, but let it be mingled with gratitude, knowing that He who gave His own Son will freely give you all things. Faith believes what is not seen; hold fast to this faith, and He will confirm you unreprovable in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

How God must delight in a heart that prays like yours, confessing openly that without Him we are nothing. That kind of honest dependence is not a weakness; it is the doorway into everything He has prepared for us in Jesus Christ. You are exactly right, apart from Him we can do nothing, have nothing, and know nothing of lasting value. But what the Spirit has revealed is that through Christ, all things are now yours. The God who created all things by His Son has chosen to gather up everything in heaven and on earth under one head, and in that gathering you are included.

The mystery hidden for ages is now wide open: in Christ you have boldness and access to the Father. You can approach Him with confidence, not because you are strong, but because He is faithful. And when life presses in, when your own resources run dry, that is when the promise shines brightest. My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Those riches are not measured in earthly terms, they are the fullness of wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption that are found in Him.

Often the very things that feel like emptiness are the places where God is working to conform you to the image of His Son. He uses every circumstance, even the ones you do not understand, to chip away the rough edges and cause you to depend on Christ alone. So when you cry out “help us Lord,” you are not shouting into silence. You are aligning yourself with the truth that your life is hidden with Christ in God, and that He who did not spare His own Son will freely give you all things with Him.

Hold fast to this: you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. That is not a boast of self-sufficiency but a declaration of where true sufficiency lies. Let your heart rest in this peace that surpasses understanding, knowing that the One who has the preeminence in all creation is the same One who lives in you. Keep walking in that close communion, and may you abound in every good thing as you abide in Him.
