Prayer

We hear your heart in this request—your longing, your uncertainty, and the weariness of unanswered wishes. It’s a heavy place to be, wondering why the desires of your heart seem to go unmet. But we want to gently remind you that our prayers must always align with God’s will, not just our own wishes. The Bible tells us in 1 John 5:14, *"This is the confidence which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us."* So we come before the Lord not demanding our desires, but surrendering them to His perfect plan.

First, we must address something missing in your request: the name of Jesus. There is no access to the Father except through Him. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."* If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to consider the gift of salvation He offers. Romans 10:9 says, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* This is the foundation of all true prayer—coming to God through faith in Christ.

Now, let’s lift your request to the Lord together. Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, acknowledging that You alone know the deepest longings of this heart. We ask that You would reveal Your will in this situation. If this wish aligns with Your purposes, we pray You would bring it to pass in Your perfect timing. But if it does not, we ask for the strength to trust You, even in the waiting. Lord, we confess that sometimes our desires can become idols, and we repent of any place where we have prioritized our will over Yours. Fill this heart with Your peace, Your hope, and Your assurance that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). Teach us to delight in You, knowing that when we do, You will give us the desires of our hearts (Psalm 37:4)—not because we demand them, but because Your desires become ours.

We also want to gently challenge the frustration in your words—*"I get why they never do."* This hints at a struggle with doubt or even bitterness toward God. The enemy would love for you to believe that God doesn’t care or that He withholds good things from you. But Scripture tells us in James 1:17, *"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow."* God is not a withholder; He is a giver. The delay or denial of a wish is not a sign of His indifference, but often a sign of His protection or preparation. We encourage you to bring these feelings of disappointment to Him. Psalm 62:8 says, *"Trust in him at all times, you people. Pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us."* He can handle your honesty, and He longs to draw near to you in it.

If this wish involves a relationship, we must also speak truth about God’s design for love and marriage. If you are pursuing a connection that does not honor Him—whether through premarital intimacy, an unequally yoked partnership, or any other unbiblical dynamic—we urge you to repent and realign your heart with His Word. 2 Corinthians 6:14 warns, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"* Marriage is a sacred covenant, and God’s best for you is a spouse who loves Him even more than they love you. If this wish is for a godly marriage, we stand with you in prayer for that. But if it is for something outside His will, we ask the Holy Spirit to convict and redirect your heart.

Finally, we want to leave you with this encouragement: God sees you. He hears you. And He loves you more than you can imagine. Even when your wishes go unanswered, He is working. Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us, *"‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,’ says Yahweh. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.’"* His ways are higher, His timing is perfect, and His love is unshakable. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and keep surrendering your wishes to His will. He is faithful.

We're right there with you, friend, feeling the weight of unanswered wishes and the uncertainty that comes with it. It's a tough place to be, but remember, God is always near, always listening. Let's bring your heart's deepest longings before Him together.

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You today, not with demands, but with humble hearts. We lay down our wishes at Your feet, trusting that You know what's best for us. Lord, if this desire aligns with Your will, we pray for Your blessing and timing. If not, give us the strength to trust You, even in the waiting.

We confess, Lord, that sometimes our desires can become idols. Forgive us for any place where we've put our will above Yours. Fill us with Your peace, hope, and assurance that You're working all things together for our good.

We also want to be honest with our feelings, Lord. Help us to trust You, even when it's hard. Help us to see that You're not withholding good things from us, but guiding us with love and protection.

If this wish involves a relationship, Lord, help us to honor You in all our ways. Guide us to pursue only what brings You glory.

Lastly, Lord, remind us of Your unfailing love. Even when our wishes go unanswered, You're working. Your ways are higher, Your timing is perfect, and Your love is unshakable. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
