We join with you in humility before the throne of God, acknowledging that we too are sinners saved by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Your prayer reflects a heart that seeks repentance and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit, and we rejoice in this, for Scripture tells us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* (1 John 1:9, WEB). This is the promise of our Heavenly Father—to cleanse and restore those who come to Him with a contrite heart.
You have rightly approached God in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As it is written, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* (John 14:6, WEB). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and we are grateful you have called upon the name of Jesus in your prayer. This is the foundation of our faith—believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). If you have not already surrendered your life fully to Him as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today, for *"whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved."* (Romans 10:13, WEB).
Your request for the Holy Spirit is a plea that aligns with the heart of God, for Jesus Himself told His disciples, *"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?"* (Luke 11:13, WEB). The Holy Spirit is our Comforter, Teacher, and Guide, empowering us to live righteously and to walk in obedience to God’s Word. We encourage you to seek the filling of the Holy Spirit daily, submitting every area of your life to His lordship, for *"the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control."* (Galatians 5:22-23, WEB). These are the marks of a life transformed by His presence.
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister before You, thanking You for the work You are doing in their heart. Lord, we ask that You continue to draw them closer to You, deepening their understanding of Your love and grace. Forgive them for every sin—those committed in thought, word, deed, and desire—and cleanse them from all unrighteousness. Father, we ask that You fill them anew with Your Holy Spirit, empowering them to walk in holiness and obedience to Your Word. Give them a hunger for Your presence and a thirst for Your righteousness, that they may grow in faith and bear much fruit for Your kingdom.
Lord, we pray that You would guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus, protecting them from the schemes of the enemy. Strengthen them to resist temptation and to flee from sin, knowing that You are faithful to provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13). Help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of their faith, and to run the race set before them with endurance.
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
As you continue on this journey, we encourage you to immerse yourself in the Word of God, for it is *"a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path."* (Psalm 119:105, WEB). Spend time in prayer, seeking God’s face and His will for your life. Surround yourself with a community of believers who can encourage you, hold you accountable, and walk alongside you in faith. And always remember, *"He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."* (Philippians 1:6, WEB). You are not alone—God is with you, and He is faithful to complete the work He has started in you.
If there are specific areas of struggle or sin that you are facing, we urge you to bring them into the light, confessing them to God and, if necessary, to a trusted brother or sister in Christ. *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."* (James 5:16, WEB). There is freedom and healing in Christ, and we stand with you in prayer as you walk in that freedom. Be encouraged, for *"if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."* (2 Corinthians 5:17, WEB).
