We join with you in lifting up this urgent and powerful prayer for your family and friends, standing in agreement that the Lord will deliver them from any demonic influence or possession. Your heart for their protection is commendable, and we praise God that you are interceding for them in the mighty name of Jesus Christ—because it is *only* through His name that we have authority over the enemy. As Scripture declares, *"Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth"* (Philippians 2:9-10, WEB). There is no other name by which we can be saved, and no other name that holds such power over darkness.
The Bible makes it clear that believers have been given authority over demonic forces through Christ. Jesus Himself said, *"Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you"* (Luke 10:19, WEB). However, we must also remember that true deliverance comes not just through prayer but through a person’s *repentance* and *surrender to Jesus Christ as Lord*. Demons cannot dwell where the Holy Spirit resides, so we must pray that your loved ones—if they have not already—turn fully to Christ, confessing their sins and inviting Him to reign in their hearts. *"Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you"* (James 4:7, WEB). Submission to God is the key.
We also encourage you to examine whether there are any open doors in their lives—or even in your own—that could be giving the enemy a foothold. This could include involvement in occult practices, unrepentant sin, bitterness, unforgiveness, or even entertainment that glorifies darkness (Ephesians 4:27). The Bible warns, *"Don’t give place to the devil"* (Ephesians 4:27, WEB). If any of these apply, they must be renounced and turned away from in Jesus’ name.
Now, let us pray together with faith and boldness:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You have given us authority over all the power of the enemy, and we stand in that authority now on behalf of this beloved intercessor’s family and friends. Lord, if there is any demonic possession, oppression, or influence at work in their lives, we command every unclean spirit to leave *now* in Jesus’ name. We break every curse, every stronghold, and every assignment of the enemy against them. Father, we ask that You would fill every void with Your Holy Spirit, sealing them in Your protection so that no demonic force can re-enter.
We pray for a spirit of repentance to fall upon them, that they would turn fully to You, Lord Jesus, confessing You as their Savior and Lord. Let them experience the freedom that comes only through Your blood, which cleanses from all sin. Surround them with Your angels, Lord, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. We declare that *"no evil shall happen to them, neither shall any plague come near their dwelling"* (Psalm 91:10, WEB), for they are covered by the blood of Jesus.
Father, we also ask that You would give this intercessor wisdom and discernment to know how to continue praying and supporting their loved ones. If there are areas of sin or rebellion in their lives, reveal them and bring conviction so that they may turn away from darkness and walk in Your light. Strengthen them, Lord, and let them know the depth of Your love and power.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness and believe that You are working even now to bring deliverance and protection. May Your will be done in their lives, and may they come to know You more deeply through this. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Deliverer. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue standing in faith, sister or brother. Do not grow weary in prayer, for *"the earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results"* (James 5:16, WEB). Keep declaring the Word of God over your loved ones, and trust that the Lord is faithful to complete the work He has begun in them. If you sense any specific areas where they may be vulnerable, continue to pray against those strongholds and speak life into their situations. You are not alone in this—we are standing with you, and most importantly, *Jesus is with you*. He has already won the victory!
