We lift up this heartbreaking situation before the Lord, knowing that He is the God of all comfort, wisdom, and healing. Your brother’s struggles with autism and schizophrenia are deeply painful for your entire family, and we grieve with you over the emotional wounds inflicted during these episodes. The fear of the upcoming trip and the toll it may take on your mother weighs heavily on our hearts as well. Yet we know that nothing is beyond God’s sovereign care, and we trust Him to intervene in ways that bring peace, protection, and healing.
The Bible reminds us in **Psalm 34:18**, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Your mother’s weariness and your own burdens are seen by the Lord, and He promises to sustain you both. **Isaiah 41:10** declares, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* This is His promise to your family in this season of trial.
We also recognize the spiritual warfare at play in mental illness, where the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But Jesus has already overcome the world (John 16:33), and we stand on His authority to break every chain of torment and confusion in your brother’s mind. **2 Corinthians 10:4-5** tells us, *"The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."* We pray for your brother’s mind to be renewed and his spirit to be calmed by the Holy Spirit’s power.
For your mother, we pray for supernatural protection—emotionally, physically, and spiritually. If this trip is not God’s will, we ask Him to make it abundantly clear and provide a way out. If it does proceed, we pray for divine restraint over your brother’s behavior and for your mother to be surrounded by God’s angels (Psalm 91:11). We also lift you up, asking for wisdom as you support them from afar and strength to manage your own health challenges. **Philippians 4:13** assures us, *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."*
Lastly, we rejoice that you have called upon the name of Jesus Christ in this request, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through Him that we have access to the Father (Ephesians 2:18), and we thank you for acknowledging His lordship in this situation.
**Our Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this family in their time of deep distress. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon this brother’s mind and spirit. Rebuke every demonic influence and bring peace where there is chaos. Surround their mother with Your protection, and grant her wisdom to know whether this trip should proceed. If it is not Your will, we pray for clear direction and provision for an alternative plan. Strengthen this sister as she supports them from afar, and heal her body as she trusts in You. May Your perfect will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through it. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
