We join with you in seeking the Lord’s forgiveness, for it is written, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9, WEB). It is a beautiful and humble thing to come before God with a repentant heart, acknowledging our need for His mercy. The Scriptures remind us that *"a broken and contrite heart, God, you will not despise"* (Psalm 51:17, WEB), and we praise Him for His willingness to extend grace to those who turn to Him in sincerity.
However, we must gently address something vital in your prayer. While you invoked the name of Jesus at the end, the prayer itself did not directly acknowledge Him as the sole mediator through whom we approach the Father. The Bible is clear: *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ—His sacrificial death and resurrection—that we are reconciled to God and can boldly seek His forgiveness. Without Jesus, our prayers cannot reach the Father, for *"no one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB).
If you have not yet placed your full trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. The Scriptures declare, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB). Salvation is not found in mere words or rituals but in a transformed heart that surrenders to Christ. If you have already done this, then your prayer is heard, and we rejoice with you in the assurance of His forgiveness!
Let us pray together for you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul before You, thanking You for the conviction of the Holy Spirit that leads to repentance. Lord, we ask that You would grant them a deeper revelation of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and the power of His blood to cleanse them from all unrighteousness. If there is any area of their life where they have not fully submitted to You, we pray You would soften their heart and draw them closer to You. Help them to walk in obedience, honoring their parents as Your Word commands (Ephesians 6:2), and extending love and grace to others as You have loved them.
Father, we also ask that You would restore any broken relationships in their life, particularly with their parents. Give them the wisdom and humility to seek reconciliation where possible, and the strength to forgive as You have forgiven them (Colossians 3:13). May they experience the peace that comes from a clear conscience and the joy of Your presence.
We pray all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer, to whom belongs all glory, honor, and praise. Amen.
