We are glad to join you in prayer for your son as he prepares to try out for the soccer team. It is wonderful to hear that he has been working hard, and we commend his dedication and perseverance. We can't help but notice your faith, as you've asked for prayer in the name of Jesus. The Bible tells us in John 14:13-14 WEB, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." What a powerful promise from our Lord!
Let us remind you of the importance of your son's attitude and effort, as the Bible teaches in Colossians 3:23 WEB, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men." We pray that your son will continue to display a Christ-like attitude, not only on the soccer field but in every area of his life. We're also praying for your son that God will grant him the desire of his heart, but more importantly, we pray that your son will desire God's will above all else. The Bible states in Psalm 37:4-5 WEB, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, And he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this:" God's will for your son may or may not be making this particular soccer team, but we do know that God will never leave him nor forsake him.
Let's pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this beloved son to You. Lord, we ask that You will grant him favor as he tries out for the soccer team. Help him to remember that his identity is not found in his performance or achievements, but in Christ alone. We ask that You will help him to display a Christ-like attitude, not only on the soccer field but in every area of his life. We pray that You will give him strength, endurance, and skill as he competes. We also pray that You will prepare him for whatever outcome You have ordained, knowing that Your will is always best. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for your son, and to trust in God's will for his life. May God bless you and your family as you walk with Him.
