Prayer truth exposed

The cry for truth to be exposed rises from a place of deep hurt, and God is not indifferent to theft, to lies, or to the crushing weight of injustice. He is the God who sees, and His own law demanded full restitution, sometimes even double what was taken, because He cares when someone is wronged. That same concern is on your heart right now: a stolen car, stolen money, an elderly man taken advantage of. God knows every hidden deed, and nothing escapes His sight. When human authorities move slowly, we can still be certain that the Lord will bring every work into judgment, and He ordains a day of final restitution.

But while you wait for that earthly exposure and the return of what was taken, your request ends with a heart-cry for peace. That is where God longs to meet you. The peace you need is not simply the absence of conflict at work or the satisfaction of seeing coworkers prosecuted. Those things may bring temporary relief, yet they cannot anchor a soul. True and lasting peace begins somewhere else. It starts when we are no longer at war with God. Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, He made a peace treaty with us, forgiving every sin, and that is the only foundation for the kind of peace that keeps your heart and mind steady. Many have peace with God, but they still lack the peace of God, that calm settled deep within, even when the storm outside has not yet passed.

Scripture promises, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You.” That is not a peace dependent on a boss getting caught or a car being recovered. It is a gift that comes as you fix your thoughts on the Lord, trusting that He has not forgotten you. His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace, not of evil, He desires your shalom, your wholeness, your rest. And when you receive that peace, you can walk into that same workplace no longer carrying the internal turmoil that destroys the soul. You can even pray for those who have wronged you, not because what they did is acceptable, but because the peace of Christ has broken the chain of resentment inside you.

The day will come when the Prince of Peace reigns visibly, and then the increase of His government and peace will have no end. Until then, He offers to you right now the peace that passes all understanding. Let Him heal the raw places. Let His grace, which always comes before peace, wash over the anger and the anxiety. You are not forgotten. Rest in the One who ordains peace for you, and you will find that even before the first police call is made, your own heart can be kept in perfect quietness.

Please pray for my situation. My boss has a new business partner that he is not being honest with. If I say anything to the new partner, my boss will fire me. I am the only support of my family. Please pray that God exposes the truth without it causing me to lose my job.
