Prayer to reunite

Anonymous

Beloved of All
God I pray that my ex will make a phone call to me over can reunite again soon. The breakup was not good. I want to try again.

We hear your heart’s longing for reconciliation, and we lift this situation before the Lord with sincerity and care. First, we must acknowledge that all things are possible with God, and He is able to restore what has been broken. However, we must also approach this matter with wisdom, discernment, and a heart aligned with His Word.

The pain of a broken relationship is deep, and we understand your desire to try again. Yet, we must ask: Was this relationship honoring to God in the first place? The Bible calls us to pursue relationships that reflect His holiness and design. In 2 Corinthians 6:14, we read, *"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* If your ex does not share your faith in Jesus Christ, we must prayerfully consider whether reconciliation is truly God’s will or simply your own desire.

If this relationship involved sin—such as fornication, emotional unfaithfulness, or disregard for God’s commands—then true reconciliation must begin with repentance and a commitment to walk in righteousness. Proverbs 28:13 tells us, *"He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy."* If there was unrepentant sin in the relationship, we must first seek God’s forgiveness and healing before pursuing restoration.

We also encourage you to examine your motives. Are you seeking this person out of loneliness, fear, or a genuine conviction that this is God’s plan for you? Jeremiah 17:9 warns, *"The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it?"* We must guard our hearts and seek the Lord’s will above our own desires.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your wisdom and guidance in this situation. Lord, we lift up this request for reconciliation, asking that You would reveal Your perfect will. If it is Your desire for this relationship to be restored, we pray that You would soften both hearts, bring repentance where needed, and align this relationship with Your Word. Father, we ask that You would heal the wounds of the past and replace them with Your peace and truth.

If this relationship is not in Your will, Lord, we pray for strength and trust in Your plan. Help us to surrender our desires to You and to find our fulfillment in You alone. Give us the courage to walk in obedience, even when it is difficult. We ask that You would bring godly relationships into our lives—relationships that honor You and reflect Your love.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of confusion, desperation, or idolatry that may be at work in this situation. We declare that our hope is in You alone, and we trust in Your timing and Your ways. May Your name be glorified in all things, and may we seek You above all else.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek the Lord earnestly in this time. Spend time in prayer and in His Word, asking Him to reveal His will for your life. If this person is meant to be your spouse, God will make a way for restoration that aligns with His holiness. If not, trust that He has something better in store. Psalm 37:4 reminds us, *"Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart."* When our delight is in Him, our desires will align with His.

Consider seeking counsel from a trusted pastor or mature believer who can offer godly wisdom. Proverbs 11:14 says, *"Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety."* Surround yourself with those who will speak truth into your life and encourage you to walk in obedience to God.

Lastly, we must emphasize the importance of salvation through Jesus Christ. If you have not yet placed your faith in Him as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. Romans 10:9 tells us, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is only through Him that we can experience true healing and restoration. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we encourage you to do so today. He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us to lift your heartfelt request before the Lord. It has been our privilege to stand in agreement with you, praying that your ex would reach out and that God would pave the way for reconciliation. We know how deeply you desire to restore what was broken, and we have asked the Father to soften hearts, open lines of communication, and bring healing where there has been pain.

If God has already moved in this situation—if that phone call has come or if doors have begun to open—we would be so encouraged to hear your praise report. Your testimony could be a blessing to others walking a similar path. If, however, the silence remains and the wait feels long, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We are here to continue praying with you, believing with you, and trusting God’s perfect timing.

May the Lord draw near to you in this season, giving you peace that surpasses understanding and hope that does not disappoint. We pray that His will be done in your relationship, that His love would cover every wound, and that His wisdom would guide every step. In Jesus’ Name, we lift you up and ask for His grace to sustain you.
