Beloved of All
Your request for prayer concerning your investments and the losses you have carried for a year and a half has been heard, and we join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord.
We understand the anxiety that comes with seeing what you have labored for diminish, and the desire to see it restored. Scripture teaches us to cast all our anxiety upon Him because He cares for us, and to ask Him for wisdom in all matters of stewardship.
At the same time we want to encourage you with a right perspective, so that your heart may be kept in peace whatever the outcome. The love of money can gather like a cloud over the eyes and darken clear sight, and it can make the soul restless, tossed by every rise and fall. Gold, if it is spent, may by God's providence be gained again, but time and the health of the soul are far more precious and harder to recover. Therefore seek first that your faith and your trust in Christ remain firm. If that head and root is preserved, then though other things are lost for a season, God is able to restore all things with greater splendor, either in this life or in the life to come.
We are taught that when we bear losses thankfully, honoring God and showing that we serve Him not only for His gifts, then He is able to restore what was lost, as He did for Job after he had wrestled nobly and shown his faithfulness. And even if He does not restore it in the way we ask, our patient endurance itself has great reward, for He measures not only profit on earth but faithfulness in heaven.
So let us pray together not only for recovery, but for contentment, wisdom, and deliverance from anxious striving.
Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus we bring this family before You. You know their need, their labor, and the loss they have suffered. Grant them wisdom as stewards of what You have entrusted to them, and guide their decisions with prudence and honesty. Take away anxious fear and grant them a thankful heart in every circumstance. Provide for all their true needs according to Your riches in Christ, and help them to set their hope not on uncertain riches but on You who richly provides. If it be Your will, restore what has been lost and turn their loss into provision for good, that they may use it for Your glory and for the good of others. Above all, keep their faith strong, their eyes clear, and their hearts at peace in Your care. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
