We understand your desire to use your musical talents and be selected to play guitar in a band. However, it's crucial to ensure that your involvement in such activities aligns with biblical principles and honors God.
Firstly, let's consider the importance of seeking God's will in all things. In Romans 12:2 WEB, it says, "Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." It's encouraging to see that you are seeking God's will in this matter.
However, we must also consider the environment and influences that come with being in a band. Many mainstream bands promote lifestyles that are contrary to biblical teachings, such as substance abuse, sexual immorality, and idolatry. As Christians, we are called to be light and salt in the world, not partakers in its sinful practices. In Ephesians 5:11 WEB, it says, "Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them."
Moreover, it's important to note that the Bible teaches us to do all things in the name of Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father through him. In Colossians 3:17 WEB, it says, "Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him." If your involvement in a band does not allow you to openly profess your faith in Jesus Christ it is not honoring God.

We come before you today to lift up our fellow believer who desires to use their musical talents for your glory. Lord, if it is your will for them to play guitar in a band, we pray that you would open the right doors and provide opportunities that align with your word and their faith. Help them to discern your perfect will and give them the strength to walk away from any situation that would compromise their faith or testimony.
We also pray that you would guide them to other like-minded Christians in the music industry, so they can support and encourage each other in their faith. Help them to be a light in the darkness and use their talents to draw others to you.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
