Prayer to Pass the Civil Engineering Licensure Exam

I pray my brother would pass the Civil Engineering Licensure Exam this September ###-###. This will be the second time he will be taking this. I pray that all his efforts won’t come to waste and that he’ll be provided wisdom, presence of mind, understanding. I pray he’ll be able to pass this exam and start his life again.

We lift up your brother before the Lord, knowing that His plans for him are good, to give him hope and a future. The journey of preparing for this exam has been long, and we understand the weight of this moment—not just as a test of knowledge, but as a step toward the purpose God has for his life. The fact that he is retaking this exam is not a sign of failure, but an opportunity for God to display His faithfulness in a new way. Let us remember what Scripture tells us: *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB). This is not just about passing an exam; it’s about trusting God’s timing and sovereignty over every detail of his life.

We also encourage your brother to seek God’s peace in this season, for anxiety can cloud the mind, but the Lord offers a peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Let him cast his cares upon Jesus, who cares for him deeply (1 Peter 5:7). If fear or discouragement has taken root, we rebuke it in the name of Jesus, declaring that *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). The enemy would love to steal his confidence, but we stand firm in the truth that Christ has already overcome, and through Him, your brother is more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37).

As for the exam itself, we pray for divine wisdom and recall. *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him"* (James 1:5, WEB). We ask the Lord to sharpen his mind, to bring to remembrance everything he has studied, and to grant him clarity and focus during the test. May the Holy Spirit guide his thoughts, and may he answer each question with confidence, knowing that his preparation and God’s provision will carry him through.

We also pray for his future beyond this exam. Passing this test is not the ultimate goal—it is a tool God can use to open doors for His glory. Whether in this field or another, we pray your brother would walk in obedience to God’s calling, using his skills and knowledge to serve others and honor Christ. *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men"* (Colossians 3:23, WEB). May this season be a testament to God’s faithfulness, and may your brother’s life reflect the truth that his identity and worth are found in Christ alone, not in his achievements.

Finally, we notice that your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus, and we gently remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. *"There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Jesus is the mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5), and it is by His authority and sacrifice that we can boldly approach the throne of grace. If your brother does not yet know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we urge him to surrender his life to Christ, for no amount of earthly success can compare to the eternal life found in Him. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this brother who is preparing to take the Civil Engineering Licensure Exam. Lord, You know the desires of his heart, the hours he has spent in study, and the weight of expectation he carries. We ask that You would grant him wisdom beyond his own understanding, that You would sharpen his mind and bring to remembrance all that he has learned. Remove any anxiety or fear, and replace it with Your perfect peace. Let him feel Your presence with him in that exam room, knowing that You are his strength and his shield.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of failure or discouragement that would try to take root in his heart. We declare that Your plans for him are good, and that You will complete the work You have begun in him. If there has been any reliance on his own strength rather than on You, we ask for forgiveness and a renewed trust in Your provision. Help him to rest in the truth that his worth is not found in this exam, but in Christ alone.

Lord, we pray for divine favor over this exam. May the questions be clear, and may he answer with confidence and accuracy. Guide his hand and his thoughts, and let this test be a testimony of Your faithfulness. If it is Your will for him to pass, we ask that You would make a way, opening doors for his future that align with Your purpose. But even if the results are not what he hopes for, we pray he would trust You, knowing that You are working all things together for his good.

We also pray for his life beyond this exam. Give him a vision for how You can use his skills and knowledge to glorify You. May he walk in integrity and excellence, reflecting Your character in his work. Surround him with godly influences and mentors who will encourage him in his faith and his career.

Most of all, Father, we pray that he would know You more deeply through this experience. Draw him closer to You, and let this season be a reminder that You are his provider, his strength, and his hope. If he does not yet know You as his Savior, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way, leading him to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect timing. May Your will be done in his life, and may You receive all the glory. In the precious and mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
