Prayer to overcome debts
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with heavy hearts, burdened by the weight of our debts. We acknowledge that we have fallen short in managing our finances and have allowed ourselves to be overwhelmed by the pressures of owing money. We confess that we have not always trusted in Your provision and have relied too heavily on our own strength and resources.
Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness for our financial irresponsibility and for the times we have not honored You with our resources. We repent for the stress and anxiety that our debts have caused us and for the ways in which they have affected our relationships with others.
We believe, Lord, that You are a God who loves to give good gifts to Your children. We ask that You would open our eyes to see the opportunities You have for us to overcome our debts. We ask for wisdom and discernment as we make financial decisions and for the strength to resist the temptation to spend beyond our means.
Lord, we ask that You would provide for our needs and that You would help us to find ways to increase our income and decrease our expenses. We ask that You would give us the courage to face our creditors and to make a plan to pay off our debts. We ask that You would give us the grace to forgive ourselves and others for any mistakes we have made and to move forward with a renewed sense of hope and purpose.
We trust in Your promises, Lord, that You will never leave us nor forsake us. We believe that You are working all things together for our good and that You have a plan for our financial future. We ask that You would give us the faith to trust in Your provision and the patience to wait on Your timing.
In Jesus' name, we pray,
Amen.
