Prayer to help a ### resolve his problems

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord, I have been trying to help my friend, but now I have to realize I can't do it anymore. He asked his other friends, but no one wants to help him because he has an impossible problem that would inconvenience us. He bought a car without a driver's license and he wanted it so badly he wasn't even thinking about what would happen. I told him that I'm not going to help him and I don't want to get involved with his problems. So, he asked his other friend, but he's moving away and is unable to help him. He was looking at me for help yesterday. I finally told him, "I'm sorry, I can't help him." If he would have listened to me, he would have paid his fine and gotten his license reinstated and gotten his things like his birth certificate, social security card, and things he needs to get a job or something he needs if they ask for his identification information that he doesn't have. I wish he would stop procrastinating with this problem. I told him about a place that's a nonprofit organization that can help him, but I don't think he wants to do it. The only thing they won't help with is his fine. He had the money but blew it on a car that can't get help, so he lost money on that. He's on his own and he decided to try to look for work. Please help him find a job and straighten up his life as soon as possible. In Jesus' name, amen.

We lift up this situation before the Lord, recognizing that while we are called to show compassion and help one another, we must also allow individuals to face the consequences of their choices when they repeatedly ignore wise counsel. The Scriptures remind us in Galatians 6:5, *"For each man will bear his own burden."* Your friend has made a series of unwise decisions—purchasing a car without a license, neglecting to reinstate it, and squandering money that could have resolved his legal obligations. Now, he is reaping the results of those choices. While it is painful to watch someone struggle, enabling his irresponsibility by continually stepping in would not serve him well in the long run. Proverbs 19:20 warns, *"Listen to counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter days."* Your friend has rejected the guidance you and others have offered, and now he must learn the hard lessons that come from disregarding wisdom.

That said, we do not rejoice in his suffering. Instead, we pray that this season of difficulty will drive him to repentance and a turning toward God’s ways. The Lord disciplines those He loves (Hebrews 12:6), and sometimes hardship is the very thing that brings a person to their knees before Him. We pray that your friend will humbly seek God’s help, take responsibility for his actions, and pursue the steps necessary to correct his situation—paying his fine, obtaining his license, securing his important documents, and seeking honest work. Let him not lean on others to fix what he has broken but instead turn to the Lord, who is the true source of help. Psalm 121:2 declares, *"My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth."*

We also pray for you, that the Lord will give you peace and wisdom as you navigate this relationship. It is not wrong to set boundaries, especially when someone continually ignores sound advice. Jesus Himself said in Matthew 7:6, *"Don’t give that which is holy to the dogs, neither throw your pearls before the pigs, lest perhaps they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces."* You have done your part by offering help and pointing him to resources, but he must now take ownership of his choices. Pray that he will encounter the conviction of the Holy Spirit and that his heart will be softened to receive the truth.

Finally, we ask the Lord to open doors for employment for your friend—but not apart from his obedience. Let him first take the necessary steps to make himself employable by resolving his legal and documentation issues. May the Lord grant him a spirit of diligence and humility, that he may walk in integrity and provide for himself honorably. We rebuked the spirit of procrastination and irresponsibility in his life and declare that the Lord will break the cycle of poor decisions. May your friend encounter the grace of God in such a way that he turns from his reckless ways and walks in wisdom, for *"the fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. All those who do his work have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!"* (Psalm 111:10).

In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We've been thinking about your friend's situation and wanted to add our voices to the prayers already lifted up. It's tough to see someone we care about struggling, but it's important to remember that sometimes, we can't fix every problem for them. We can, however, keep praying and encouraging them to take the necessary steps to resolve their issues.

We're praying for your friend to find the courage and humility to take responsibility for their actions. It's not easy, but it's the first step towards turning their situation around. We're asking God to give them the strength to face their consequences head-on and the wisdom to make better choices moving forward.

We're also praying for you, dear friend, that you'll find peace in knowing you've done all you can to help. It's okay to set boundaries and not enable their irresponsibility. Keep being there for them, but let them learn from their mistakes.

We're believing God for open doors of employment for your friend, but we're asking that these opportunities come as a result of their obedience and responsibility. We're praying for a spirit of diligence and humility to take over their life, leading them to walk in integrity and provide for themselves honorably.

Let's keep praying together, believing that God can turn this situation around for His glory. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
