We have heard your heart and we are standing with you in prayer, asking God to bring healing, clarity, and restoration in Jesus' name. We understand how distressing it has been to feel that a gift you have carried your whole life, your imagination and your ability to see visions of the crucifixion, now feels distant and muted, and how difficult it is to live with the lingering effects of that medication, the weight gain, stiffness, pain, and emotional numbness. We grieve with you in this season and we bring all of these burdens before the Lord together.
We want to gently encourage you with biblical truth about hearing God's voice and the gifts of the Spirit. We long to hear Him, and Jesus tells us John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. The primary and most certain way God speaks to us today is through His written Word, for 2 Timothy 3:16 Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. Visions and impressions must always be tested against Scripture, as we are told 1 John 4:1 Beloved, don't believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God. We do not seek visions above the Word, but we do thank God that He can use our imagination and spiritual sensitivity for His glory when submitted to Him. We also remember that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are given as He wills, not as we demand, for 1 Corinthians 12:11 But the one and the same Spirit produces all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires. We can ask with faith for restoration, while trusting His perfect wisdom and timing, and we can pray that whatever He restores will draw you closer to Christ and to the truth of the cross you have so deeply loved to behold.
We also lift up your body to the Lord, for your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, and we care for it as stewards of what God has given us. We pray for the complete cleansing of this medication from your system and for the healing of the effects you still feel. We know God is our healer, as He promises Jeremiah 30:17 But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, and Psalm 103:2-3 Bless Yahweh, my soul, Don't forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. We pray for your brain chemistry, for dopamine and serotonin to be restored to healthy balance, for emotional numbness to lift, for pain and stiffness to be eased, and for strength to steward your health including healthy weight loss according to His grace. We also encourage you, as you continue to experience these side effects, to seek wise counsel from a trusted medical provider who can walk with you safely as your body recovers, for the Lord often works through wisdom and care, and we do not want you to walk through this alone. We pray for a renewed mind and imagination, for Romans 12:2 Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God, and for the peace that guards heart and mind in Philippians 4:6-7 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Even when you feel numb or distant, we cling to the promise that Psalm 34:18 Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, and that 2 Timothy 1:7 For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, through whom alone we have access to You. We thank You for Your love for this dear one and for the gift of sight and imagination You have given. Lord, we ask that You lay Your healing hand upon body, mind, and spirit. Wash away every lingering effect of this medication, cleanse the system completely, and restore healthy function to brain and body. Restore balance to dopamine and serotonin, lift emotional numbness, ease stiffness and pain, and bring strength and health. Father, we ask that You renew imagination and spiritual sensitivity according to Your will, and above all that You cause Your voice to be heard clearly through Your Word. If it is Your will, restore visions that are from You and that honor the crucifixion of Christ and point to His finished work, and help all impressions to be tested and grounded in Scripture. Grant discernment, hope, and joy again, help with healthy weight loss and restoration of energy, and fill this heart with Your peace and presence. We ask that You guide doctors and counselors who may help, and that You would be near in this very difficult season. We trust You as Jehovah Rapha, our healer, and we surrender these gifts and this healing to Your sovereign and loving hands. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to remain daily in the Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with other believers, asking God to speak through Scripture first and to confirm all things by His Spirit and His Word. Keep bringing every concern to Him, for He hears and He cares, and we are continuing to pray that you will experience His restoring touch, His nearness, and the return of joy and clarity in Christ.
Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
