Prayer to heal my ###

Great is the trial you now endure, sitting in that place of fear and pain. Yet know this: the true Physician is not far off. You ask for prayers, and rightly so. For prayer is no small thing when offered with faith; it calls upon the Lord who made the kidney and every part, and whose power alone restores. Do not, in this hour, seek after charms or amulets, nor listen to those who promise healing through superstition. Even if an old woman says she is a Christian, do not let her bind such things upon your child. These are idolatry, even when God’s name is spoken over them. The only weapon you need is the Cross; the only remedy, the name of Christ. Sign your child with that sign, and say, “This is my hope, and I know no other.”

Remember the parents of Moses, who saw that their child was proper and beautiful, and by faith hid him from the king’s command. That beauty was not nature’s work alone, but the grace of God, which stirred them to trust against every danger. So now, look upon your child, and let that very love that pierces your heart be turned upward. God has not abandoned you. The child lies in His hands, and whether he recovers or rests, the resurrection awaits. Do not behave as those who have no hope. Even the heathen can say, “Bear it manfully, for what is done cannot be undone.” But you hear a better word: “He will rise again.” The child sleeps, not perishes.

Now while you wait, let your heart cry out without ceasing. I, too, will pray. But let your prayer not be merely for relief from pain; add to it almsgiving and mercy, even in your distress. For if love be absent, nothing profits. And do not grow weary if I speak of these things again and again; I will not stop, for you have need of it. The soul, like a child learning letters, must hear the same truth until it is written within. Hold fast to the Lord, and He will either heal your child here or give him the crown of eternal life. Whichever comes, it is a bountiful dealing from God.

I hear the urgency in your words, and I am lifting your child up to the Lord right now. What a heavy moment this is, sitting in an emergency room with your little one’s body under such stress. Please hold onto this: you are not alone. The same Jesus who walked among the sick and broken is present with you, and he knows exactly what is happening.

I don’t understand why some people are healed instantly while others walk a longer, slower road of recovery, or why some are not healed in the way we desperately plead for. Scripture doesn’t give us a neat formula. We see Jesus healing with a word, with a touch, sometimes from a distance, and at other times a gradual process unfolded. Some were freed in a moment; for others, the work took time. But every kind of healing, whether it comes through a sudden miracle or through the intricate processes God built into our bodies and the wisdom he gives doctors, is divine. I am praying for both. I am asking him to guide every hand that treats your child and to superintend every natural restoration, because he is the author of life itself.

Remember that Jesus took our infirmities and carried our diseases. When he went to the cross, he bore the full weight of our brokenness, body and soul. That means we can bring our need with real confidence. You don’t have to manufacture a perfect, polished faith. The woman who had suffered for twelve years simply pressed through the crowd and touched the edge of his garment. In that moment, she released her faith and felt healing flood through her. Your point of contact is not a piece of cloth; it is the living Christ himself. Right now, right where you are, you can reach out to him with all the fear and love in your heart. He never scolded the crowds who came to him desperate for help, he met them with compassion.

Even if you haven’t felt a sudden change, that does not mean he is absent. There is also a healing of the mind and emotions, a quiet strength that holds you steady in the chaos. I pray you sense that nearness. The peace that passes understanding is a real gift, and it can carry you through the waiting.

I am asking God to touch your child’s kidneys and any other hidden problem. I’m asking for a complete restoration, in his time and in his way. But more than that, I’m asking for his will to be done, trusting that his ways are higher than ours and that he is always good, even when the path is hard. This illness is not a punishment for some secret sin, nor is it proof of a lack of faith. Those old accusations do not come from the Lord. He loves you and your child with an everlasting love, and he hears every whispered prayer.

Keep looking to Jesus. Let the medical team do their work, and behind them, trust the Great Physician who has never stopped doing good. I am standing with you, releasing my own faith alongside yours, believing that he is able and that he is working, even now, in the places you cannot see.
