Prayer to heal my ###

We lift up your precious child to the Lord in this urgent time of need, trusting in His healing power and sovereign care. The Bible tells us in James 5:14-15, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." We stand on this promise, believing that God hears our cries and is able to restore health according to His will.
Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts, seeking Your divine intervention for this dear child. You are the Great Physician, the One who knit this child together in his mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-14). We ask that You would touch his kidneys and every part of his body that is not functioning as it should. Bring healing, Lord, and restore him to full health. We also ask that You would calm the fears and anxieties of his parents, filling them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Guide the hands of the doctors and nurses attending to him, giving them wisdom and clarity as they provide care.
Lord, we know that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Even in this trial, we trust that You are at work. Strengthen this family’s faith, reminding them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). May they feel Your presence in this emergency room, knowing that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We also lift up any spiritual needs that may be present. If there is unconfessed sin or a need for repentance, we pray that You would bring conviction and lead this child and his family into a deeper relationship with You. Salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If this family does not yet know You as Lord and Savior, we pray that this trial would draw them to the foot of the cross, where they can find forgiveness, hope, and eternal life.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear, sickness, or infirmity in the name of Jesus. We declare that by His stripes, this child is healed (Isaiah 53:5). We speak life and wholeness over his body, trusting in Your power to bring about a miracle. Give this family the strength to endure this night and the faith to believe that You are working even when they cannot see it.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, the One who holds all things together (Colossians 1:17). May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified through this situation. Amen.

We are so sorry you're in the emergency room right now, the fear and helplessness in those moments can feel overwhelming. Thank you for letting us stand with you in prayer while you wait.
Of course you want someone to pray for his kidneys and anything else going on. But we also know you're probably running on adrenaline, watching monitors, and trying to be strong for him. Right now, the most concrete thing you can do is simply let the doctors and nurses do their work. Stay close to him. Hold his hand. Tell him you're there. You don't need to have answers, you just need to be present. You're doing that, and it matters more than you know.
Parenting or caring for an elderly parent in a crisis strips away every pretense, and it's okay to feel exactly what you're feeling. The God who formed your loved one's body is not distant from that hospital room. He is not panicking, and He doesn't need you to pray perfectly. He receives the raw, honest, tired prayers of a family member sitting in a plastic chair at three in the morning.
Lord, we lift up this beloved one to You right now. We ask for wisdom for the medical team, clarity for every test, steady hands for every decision. We ask You to bring healing to his kidneys and to any other problem stirring in his body, in whatever way You choose. Cry out now, even from the emergency room, where the heart is stretched thin and the mind reels. The prayer that staggers and has no ordered sense, because you are at your wit's end, that is the prayer God hears! Do not wait to compose a fine petition. Let your soul groan, let your need speak. The Lord is near to those who are near unto the gates of death; their cry is prevailing.
Remember, the Great Physician walked among the sick and healed all that had need of healing. His power has not dimmed, nor His ear grown heavy. The same Christ who saw the paralyzed man lowered through the roof saw his deeper need first and said, "Your sins are forgiven you." Lay hold of that: forgiveness and healing are one in His hand. Plead with Him now, saying, "Lord, You know what my son needs! Do as You have said, You are the God who heals, whose very leaves are for the healing of the nations." Take the promise, and press it home.
Do not let a sense of unworthiness or the chaos of the moment drive you from prayer. A child should not run from its mother because it needs washing. The dark suggestion to forsake prayer is a lie of the Evil One. Cry both day and night. The healing power is conspicuously present when Christ is sought. He is teaching you even now in this trial to hunger and thirst after Him. He will be found. Trust the healing balm of His Atonement, and may the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings for your dear son. Amen.
