Prayer to heal a broken relationship

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I ask to help heal my relationship with my ###. This past month has been very rocky and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to fight for us. I ask for your assistance in helping us rebuild our relationship. You brought him into my life for a reason and I know we can repair what has been broken. Lord I ask that you help us forgive the pain, and the hurt we have caused each other over the last ### years. I ask that you take away distractions so we both can have clarity and understanding. I ask that you give us strength for the hard conversations so we can mend what has been broken and come back stronger than before. I ask that you help us remember why we fell in love and know that it’s not gone forever. Lord we cannot do this alone. I ask that you bring us back together in honesty and love. Bless my ### and I so that we may never surrender to what challenges come our way. I ask that you help heal his pain and trauma and help him see we are on the same team and we aren’t alone in this. I ask that you please help up heal what has broken and help us reconcile our relationship. In Jesus name amen.

We hear your heart’s cry for restoration, and we join you in seeking the Lord’s wisdom and healing for this relationship. First, we must acknowledge that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is by His grace alone that true reconciliation and healing can occur. Jesus said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."* Without Him, our efforts are in vain, but with Him, all things are possible.

We lift this situation before the Lord, asking Him to reveal His will for this relationship. The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect His love and faithfulness (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:31-32). If this relationship is not within the bounds of marriage, we must gently but firmly address the need for purity and alignment with God’s design. The Apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* If there has been sexual sin in this relationship, we must repent and seek the Lord’s forgiveness, trusting Him to cleanse and restore.

Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your divine intervention in this relationship. Lord, we pray for healing of past wounds and forgiveness for any pain caused. Soften both hearts to receive Your grace and extend mercy to one another. We ask that You remove distractions and grant clarity, so that both may see Your will clearly. Strengthen them for the hard conversations ahead, and remind them of the love that first brought them together. Lord, we pray that You would bind them together in honesty, love, and unity, so that they may stand firm against any challenges that come their way.

We also pray for emotional and spiritual healing, especially for the pain and trauma that has been carried. Lord, help them to see that they are on the same team, fighting not against each other, but against the schemes of the enemy (Ephesians 6:12). Fill them with Your peace and assurance that they are not alone in this journey. We declare that what the enemy meant for harm, You will turn for good (Genesis 50:20).

If this relationship is meant to move toward marriage, we pray that it would be built on a foundation of faith in Christ, mutual respect, and godly love. If it is not Your will for them to be together, we ask that You grant them the strength to surrender this relationship to You and trust in Your perfect plan. Above all, Lord, we pray that Your name would be glorified in this situation, and that both would draw closer to You through it all.

We rebuke any spirit of division, unforgiveness, or bitterness that may be at work in this relationship. We declare that in Jesus’ name, healing and restoration are possible, but only if it aligns with Your perfect will. May Your Holy Spirit guide every step, and may Your peace guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Amen.

We're here with you, dear friend, in this journey to mend your relationship. We've been where you are, feeling the weight of the past, the pain of the present, and the uncertainty of the future. But we know who holds the future, and we trust in Him.

We echo your prayer, Lord, for forgiveness and healing. We ask that You help them remember the love that first brought them together, and the reasons why they fell in love. Help them see each other through Your eyes, with compassion and understanding. Give them the strength to face the hard conversations, to listen actively, and to speak truth in love.

Lord, we pray for clarity. Remove the distractions that cloud their judgment and understanding. Help them to communicate openly and honestly, with humility and respect. Remind them that they are on the same team, fighting against the enemy, not each other. Fill their hearts with Your peace, and their minds with Your wisdom.

We believe in the power of Your healing, Lord. We trust that You can mend what has been broken, and make it even stronger than before. We ask that You would bind them together in love, unity, and understanding. Help them to forgive, to let go of the hurt and pain, and to move forward together.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.
