We hear your cry for help and stand with you in this battle against addiction. The struggle is real, and the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we serve a God who came that you may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Your temporary setback does not define you—what defines you is the blood of Jesus Christ, which has already broken the power of sin over your life. The apostle Paul reminds us, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13).

First, we must address the spiritual reality of addiction. It is not merely a physical or emotional battle but a spiritual stronghold that must be torn down in the name of Jesus. The enemy has no authority over you because you have been bought with a price—the precious blood of Christ (1 Corinthians 6:20). We rebuke the spirit of addiction that seeks to enslave you, and we command it to leave in the mighty name of Jesus. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7).

We also recognize that addiction often thrives in isolation, but you are not alone. The body of Christ is here to support you, and we encourage you to seek out a biblical, Christ-centered recovery group or accountability partners who will walk with you in this journey. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). Confess your struggles to trusted believers who can pray with you and hold you accountable.

Your confession of failure tonight is not a sign of weakness but an opportunity for God’s grace to shine even brighter. The Bible says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). You are forgiven, and the Lord’s mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). Do not let shame or guilt keep you from running back to Him. Instead, let this moment drive you deeper into His arms, where true healing and freedom are found.

We also urge you to examine your heart and identify any areas where you may have opened the door to this addiction. Are there unrepentant sins, unforgiveness, or idols in your life that need to be surrendered to God? Addiction often fills a void that only Christ can satisfy. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). He is the only one who can truly satisfy the longings of your heart.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with addiction. Lord, we thank You that You are a God of second chances, and Your grace is sufficient for every weakness. We ask that You would break the chains of cocaine addiction in their life and set them free from this bondage. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit and empower them to walk in victory.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of addiction and command it to leave in Jesus’ name. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We speak life, healing, and restoration over their mind, body, and spirit. Renew their strength like the eagle’s, and let them mount up with wings as they wait upon You (Isaiah 40:31).

Lord, we ask that You would surround them with godly accountability and support. Bring believers into their life who will encourage them, pray for them, and walk with them in this journey. Give them the courage to be honest about their struggles and the humility to seek help when needed.

Father, we also ask that You would reveal any areas of their heart that need to be surrendered to You. Show them if there are sins they need to repent of or idols they need to cast down. Fill them with Your peace and joy, which surpasses all understanding, and let them know that in You, they are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37).

We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). We declare that they are not defined by their addiction but by the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Strengthen them, Lord, and help them to press on toward the goal of freedom and wholeness in You.

We encourage you to take practical steps as well. Remove any access to drugs from your life—throw away any remaining cocaine, avoid places or people that tempt you, and fill your time with godly activities such as prayer, reading the Word, and fellowship with believers. Replace the habit of using with habits that draw you closer to God. "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:2).

Remember, this is a battle, but it is one you do not have to fight alone. The Lord is your strength, and His power is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Keep pressing forward, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). You are loved, you are valued, and you are called to walk in freedom. Stand firm in your identity in Christ, and let His truth be the foundation of your recovery.

That was beautiful, thank you so much. I thought I was doing well with ### days clean and am so disappointed in myself for slipping tonight. I know God is with me and I want to please him, but I am struggling. This is not an unrepentant sin, as God knows I'm begging for forgiveness in my heart. I know I'm a sinner, but I feel that this is the remaining sin that is keeping me from living the life I am called to leave that is pleasing to God. Please send any prayers and encouragement you have. I want to live for God and place my life in his hands. I just need to break through this.

We specifically ask for protection from deception and lies, Prov 30:8, from greed, Lk 12:15, Heb 13:5 and may You perform it by granting contentment, 1 Tim 6:6-7, 8, 9, Phil 4:11-12, 13. Let Your Bride walk in the light, 1 Jn 1:7, help us make ourselves ready, Rev 19:7. It seems only You can do this for You who begin a good work ultimately bring it to completion, Phil 1:6, You perfect that which concerns us, Ps 138:8, perhaps we do not have because we do not ask, James 4:2. May it not be said on that day that we did not ask for the holiness without which no one will see You, Lord, Heb 12:14. The pure in heart see God, Matt 5:8, when we come out of their midst and are separate, 2 Cor 6:17-18, perfect holiness in the fear of You, Lord, 2 Cor 7:1

Protect us all from sin, Zeph 3:13, Ps 119:11, Rev 14:5, let us not enter into temptation, Mk 14:38, Lk 11:4, keep us from the evil one, John 17:15, and keep us on Your path of increasing clarity, Prov 4:18, Col 1:9. Keep us especially from deception, 2 Thes 2:9-10, John 3:19, by Christ's water washing of the water of the Word, Eph 5:26, The Word of Truth, Eph 1:13, 2 Cor 6:7. Sanctify us in Your Truth, Your Word is Truth, John 17:17, James 1:18.

Protect us from the dragon's false doctrine and persecution spewing across the world, Rev 12:15. Help restrain these evils, 2 Thes 2:7, and use godly government to restrain and punish evil, 1 Tim 2:1-2, 3, 4; Rev 12:16, Rom 13:1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7. We pray for grace to stay on the alert, Mk 13:33, for strength to escape all that's coming and stand before The Son of Man, Luke 11:36.

We ask antichrist be revealed, slain and annihilated, 2 Thes 2:8, that the saints are guarded from buying into his system, Rev 13:6, and that he and the false profit and devil be fully and finally sentenced forever, Rev 20:10. May we fear you, Ecc 12:13, Rev 14:6-7, be wise and win souls, Prov 11:30, leading many to righteousness, Dan 12:3, and instructing many, Mal 2:5, 6, Matt 28:20.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
