The prayer you lift for your father and mother is right and good. Yet do not imagine their conversion depends on clever arguments or outward signs alone. Faith and simplicity are needed, and these we must seek everywhere, preferring them before the wisdom which is from without. For God has made foolish the wisdom of this world in regard to receiving the faith. Pray, then, that their hearts be stripped of every pretension, that they may hear His voice not in the wisdom of words but in the Spirit’s power. The Lord who delivered Paul from the lion’s mouth is able to deliver them from every evil work that blinds the mind.

Concerning those satanic plans arrayed against you and your household, take courage. The body is not evil; it may be made an arm of righteousness. But because a hard warfare is at hand, we need strong armor and a noble spirit acquainted with this battle, and above all we need our Commander. He stands by, ever ready to help, abiding unconquerable, and has furnished you with strong arms. The devil is indeed a lion, yet the Lord will deliver you from his mouth and from every evil work. He will not suffer you to depart with condemnation if you resist unto blood, striving against sin. His glory is bound up with your salvation, and He will not think little of either.

You ask for wisdom, protection, and a way out according to His will. Know this: the wisdom from God seemed foolishness to those without, yet the spiritual man knows more and greater things. You have the mind of Christ; compare spiritual things with spiritual, drawing daily from Scripture and sound doctrine. Let your heart be filled with knowledge, your mouth with spiritual hymns, and your feet swift in good works. Fortitude will guard your breast more firmly than adamant, and charity will rule your soul. As you do these things, trusting wholly in His power and not in fleshly wisdom, He will make a way. The same God who overcame sages and kings through unlearned men will provide your escape and be glorified mightily, for this is the great salvation we must not neglect.

What you are asking for is tied to the deepest need any of us can have: wisdom from above and the intervention of God in the lives of those we love. The fear of the Lord is where wisdom begins, and it is also the very thing you are praying your parents would come to know. That holy reverence is not a distant dread, but a turning from evil and a hearing of His voice. Wisdom does not hide; she cries out in the open, pouring out her spirit and making known the words of truth. So keep asking God to pour out that Spirit of wisdom and revelation upon your parents, that they would truly hear His call, repent, and find all the treasures of knowledge that are hidden in Jesus Christ alone.

Wisdom is the principal thing, better than wealth or any earthly security. When you ask for wisdom, protection, and a way out according to His will, you are asking for a good thing, just as Solomon did. God is the source of all sound wisdom; He stores it up for the righteous and is a shield to those who walk uprightly. The way out of every difficult situation is not found in the wisdom of this world, which always comes to nothing and cannot bring anyone to God. It is found in the simple, powerful message of the cross, that Christ died for our sins and rose again. That is the wisdom of God in a mystery, the power that saves and delivers. Hold onto that truth for yourself, and never stop lifting up that same gospel for your parents. They need an encounter not with a set of rules, but with the living Person who is the way, the truth, and the life.

When it comes to the satanic plans you sense arrayed against you and your family, remember that the enemy works by deception, but his way is always the path of darkness. Once you recognize the attack, you can stand firm. The world’s wisdom, driven by pride and evil, can never bring peace or lasting safety. But God knows the way you take, and when He has tried you, He intends to bring you forth as gold, purified and strong. Do not despise His instruction or turn away from the reproofs that lead to life. Walk in the light; hate evil and cling to what is good. As you do, God will be glorified mightily in your deliverance.

Though our society often frays at the seams because of broken family relationships, never underestimate what the Lord can do. Honor your mother and father by praying for them diligently, and trust that the Spirit who gives understanding can bring even the hardest heart to repentance. Let your own life be marked by the wisdom that makes peace, that is pure, and that leads in paths of righteousness. God has promised to fill the treasures of those who love wisdom. So set your heart to prize it, seek it every day in His Word, and rest in the assurance that He will provide the protection and the way forward that you so earnestly seek.
