What a precious request you have laid before the Lord. The cry of your heart for your parents to meet Jesus and for His wisdom, protection, and deliverance in every situation is exactly where God wants us to turn.
When it comes to your parents, remember that true wisdom is not a distant idea, it is a Person calling out. Jesus Christ is the wisdom of God, and in Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Even now, He stands at the door of their hearts and lifts His voice. Pray that they hear no longer the clamor of the world but the living voice of the Son of God. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding. Ask the Holy Spirit to bring them to that holy fear, to a deep, inner seeing that the way that seems right to a person ends in death, but Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Cry out, “Oh God, help them, don’t let them perish with the wicked, but draw them to Your eternal kingdom.” He is faithful.
For yourself, the very wisdom you need is found in the same place. Do not look to the reasonings of this age, which by its own wisdom cannot know God. Come back to the simplicity of the cross. I was crucified with Christ. My old life is buried with Him, and now I am risen with Him, hidden with Christ in God. This is where your protection lies. Every satanic plan, every deed and intention formed against you, has already met its defeat at Calvary. Christ stripped principalities and powers of their authority, nailing the handwriting of ordinances that was against us to His cross. Because you are in Him, the accuser has no weapon that can prosper. You are dead to sin and alive to God, so walk in that truth.
When you face situations and cry out for a way of escape, remember that the wisdom from above is better than rubies; nothing you could desire compares to it. Honor the Lord with your whole heart. Give Him the first of your attention, your affections, your day. Keep sound wisdom and discretion, that is, let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. As you do, He becomes a buckler to you. He preserves the paths of judgment and makes your way safe. The Spirit of wisdom will teach you, comparing spiritual things with spiritual, so that you can discern the narrow path when every road seems confusing. Your faith must not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
And never lose sight of the central place of the heart. With the heart one believes unto righteousness. All the head knowledge in the world cannot change a life, but when Christ reigns in your heart through faith, everything else follows. He will pour out His Spirit upon you and make His words known to you. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life. As you do, you will see God glorified mightily, in your parents’ repentance, in your own deliverance, and in every step He guides you through. God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.
