You bring a heavy burden, and your request reveals a soul zealous for the things of Heaven. It is a great good that you desire salvation for your parents, for nothing honors a father and mother more than leading them to true life. When our Lord reproached those who used a gift to God as a pretext to defraud their parents, He was not setting aside the command to honor them, but He was showing what true honor is: that nothing should be more urgent than the things of Heaven. So, do not think that praying for their encounter with Christ is a small part of honoring them. It is the very summit of it.

You ask also for the defeat of every satanic plan and deed against your family. Be of good cheer, then, for this is the peculiar mark of the Christian’s warfare. We have an enemy who wars not openly, but with a covert and grudging spirit, one whose madness is of choice and needs much prayer, as for one possessed. Against such a Satanic spirit, one must not simply fight, but lift up a united voice in prayer. Envy and malice have overthrown whole churches. Therefore, when you ask that God be glorified mightily through the defeat of these schemes, you ask aright, for God allows such struggles so that a greater thanksgiving and glory may abound when the victory is His.

Now, regarding the wisdom, protection, and a way out you seek, understand this clearly: the way out which God most often provides is the path of the trial itself. He did not promise to remove the dangers, but to lead us through them to eternal life, where grief and mourning flee away. When the Apostle speaks of being delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, he reveals that this very affliction is what manifests the life of Jesus in our mortal flesh. Your prayer for wisdom is answered when you see your trials not as misfortunes but as the very means by which the resurrection power is displayed. For if we die every day, we also rise again, and in this, a skeptic might see the life of Christ and believe.

Therefore, let us join in this prayer with all earnestness: that your parents’ eyes be opened to hear His voice, that every deceitful plan woven in darkness be torn apart and turned to God’s own glory, and that you yourself, in the midst of these battles, may not only find a way out but become a living showcase of the truth, bearing about in your body the dying of the Lord so that His unconquerable life may shine forth. This is the wisdom that does not stammer with the drunkenness of the world, but sings psalms with a sober and heavenly joy.

You are carrying a deep and heavy burden, and it is right to bring these things before the Lord. The deepest cry of your heart is for your parents to have a true encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ, to hear His voice and repent. This is the most important thing, far above any earthly comfort. The simple, central message of the gospel is the only thing that will break through: Jesus Christ and Him crucified. That is where every plan of darkness is defeated, and that is the testimony we hold to when we pray.

When you ask for wisdom, you are asking for something that cannot be found in the world’s philosophies. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ Himself. He is made unto us wisdom from God. The world, with all its cleverness, did not come to know God by its own wisdom, but God in His pleasure chose to save those who believe through the message that seems foolish to the world. This is the wisdom you need. It starts with the fear of the Lord. It is not just a collection of good advice, but a person, wisdom is personified in Scripture, and that true wisdom is found in Jesus. So when you pray for a way out and for direction, you are asking to be led by Him. His wisdom is pure, peaceable, and gentle, and it will guide your steps into a harvest of righteousness.

Regarding the attacks you sense, the response is the Word of God itself. When the enemy came to tempt, the response was, “It is written.” Every satanic plan and intention against your family must be met with the declared truth of Scripture. We do not fight with worldly weapons but with the living Word. So hold fast to what God has said about your family. The family is a foundation, and God’s design for it is good. The trouble often comes because people have abandoned His design, but His commands are given to build families up, not tear them apart. Praying for God to be glorified mightily means praying for your parents’ salvation and for His order and peace to reign, even when there is a breach or pain because of faith. Many have found that their commitment to Christ caused a rift with their natural family, yet they were brought into a far larger family of God. But take heart and continue to honor your parents while praying they come to know the Lord, for it is in the Lord that this is right.

God is the one who will provide a way of escape and the protection you seek. He will not fail to do it. His wisdom is eternal, present from the beginning, ordering all things. Trust that He is working now. I join you in that prayer: Lord, grant an encounter with the living Christ to these parents. Break every evil scheme against this family and cover them with Your protection. Give a heart full of Your wisdom, understanding, and peace. Be glorified in every situation, and guide their steps out of every snare. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
