We pray that your parents will not only hear the voice of Jesus but respond to His call with repentant hearts, surrendering their lives to Him. May the Holy Spirit move mightily in their lives, breaking every chain of darkness and revealing the truth of the Gospel to them. Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened for the salvation of and . Lord, we ask that You would open their eyes to see Your truth, their ears to hear Your voice, and their hearts to receive Your love. Soften their spirits, Lord, and draw them to Yourself. Let them experience a personal encounter with Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, who died for their sins and rose again so that they might have eternal life. Break every stronghold of the enemy in their lives, and let Your light shine brightly in the darkness. Your cry for your parents’ souls touches the very heart of the gospel. How often have we seen that no man can come to Christ except the Father draw him, yet we are bidden to pray without ceasing for the salvation of the lost. The Lord has given commandment to save, and He has found a ransom; He can speak to your father and mother as He did to the jailer of Philippi, and bring them from the power of darkness into the kingdom of His dear Son. Let your faith hold fast to the promise: “Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.” Pray with expectation, for the arm of the Lord is not shortened.
As for the satanic plans and deeds you mention, remember that from the time when Satan fell, God’s purpose was to break down everything which set itself up in opposition to Him. The adversary may hinder, as he did Paul at Thessalonica, but he cannot prevail against the counsel of the Most High. Every arrow that flieth by night, every snare laid in secret, shall be turned aside by our Shield and Defender. Commit your cause to Him who breaketh in pieces the oppressor and casteth down the mighty from their seats of pomp. Though you feel the dragon’s breath hot upon you, yet greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.
In your request for wisdom, protection, and a way out, you have asked according to His will, and such petitions are ever pleasing to our heavenly Father. He doth not willingly afflict; the troubles that beset you do not spring from the dust. They come within the sacred zone of Providential government, and even when Satan thrusts at you, the Lord overrules for your good. The saint’s path is often through deep waters, yet the experience is variable, the clouds break, and the sunlight of Divine love shines forth again. Store your mind with His knowledge and glory; seek to know the Lord Jesus, and He will guide you with His counsel.
Let this be your confidence: deliverance from the power of sin and Satan is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. You cannot overcome the Prince of Darkness in your own strength; if you are ever set free, it must be the Lord that brought you forth with a mighty hand and a stretched-out arm. Therefore, cast yourself wholly upon Him, and expect that you shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. We will join our prayers with yours, that God may be glorified mightily in your family, and that you may yet sing songs of deliverance in the place of dragons.
