Prayer request

Thank you for sharing this request and for your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. We have heard your burden for your sister and we join you in bringing her before God in prayer.

We are praying that the Lord will have mercy on her and grant complete healing from these stomach related problems, and that He will give wisdom to those caring for her and make the medicines effective for her good. Scripture teaches us to cry out for mercy with earnestness, as those who came to Jesus asking only for His mercy, and to continue in prayer while also remaining watchful and faithful ourselves. The prayer of the church for one another is a good and necessary help, and we gladly offer it for you and your sister.

We also take comfort in knowing that even faithful servants of God knew bodily weakness. Timothy, who was so diligent in the gospel, suffered from frequent infirmities of the stomach, and Paul encouraged him to make use of the available remedy for his health. This reminds us that it is not a lack of faith to use medicine, and that God can work through these means. At the same time, when healing is slow, we are not to be offended or lose heart, but to trust that God remains sovereign and caring, and that He uses all things for our good and for His glory.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You with thanksgiving for Your goodness and mercy. We lift up this dear sister who is suffering from stomach illness. You know her pain and her weakness, and nothing is hidden from You. We ask that You would lay Your healing hand upon her, relieve her suffering, restore her stomach to health, and cause the medicines to work effectively in her body. Give her strength, comfort, and peace, and give her family assurance of Your presence. Grant wisdom to her doctors and caregivers, and above all let Your will be done in her life for her ultimate good and for Your glory. May she and her family be drawn closer to You through this trial and know the hope we have in Christ. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We will continue to keep your sister in our prayers. Please keep trusting the Lord, continue with the care her physicians have advised, and keep seeking Him daily. If it would be helpful, we encourage you to also seek the prayers and support of faithful believers near you.
