We have heard your burden for your marriage and your wife and we stand with you before the throne of grace to seek God's will together in Jesus name.
We believe marriage is a holy covenant ordained by God as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and what God has joined together, let no man separate, Mark 10:9. God's desire is not separation but oneness, peace and love in the home. Therefore a spirit of separation, fighting, and division is not from God and we must address it both spiritually and biblically.
The Scripture tells us our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, Eph 6:12. We also know the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, 2 Cor 10:4. So we do not see your wife as the enemy. We rebuke the spirit of strife, separation and disobedience that is working to steal and destroy your marriage, and we also call both husband and wife to examine their hearts before the Lord.
For you as a husband, God commands husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it, Eph 5:25, and husbands, love your wives, and do not be bitter against them, Col 3:19, and husbands, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered, 1 Pet 3:7. For your wife, the Word says wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord, Eph 5:22. This submission is a willing response to a loving, Christlike husband, not forced obedience, and it is lived out as unto the Lord. When either spouse harbors unforgiveness, pride, anger or unrepentant sin, it gives the enemy a foothold.
Living in separate rooms also grieves God's design for marriage. The Scripture says do not deprive one another, except by mutual consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer, and may be together again, that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self control, 1 Cor 7:5. Separation should not become a permanent way of life but should be healed through repentance, forgiveness and restored intimacy in the Lord.
We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and that deliverance truly comes. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. Several pastors may have prayed, but true deliverance requires personal faith in Jesus, repentance of sin, submission to God and resistance of the devil, for we are told submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you, James 4:7. If you or your wife have not fully surrendered your lives to Jesus as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, Rom 10:9, for then you will be saved and have authority in His name.
We encourage you to continue in humble, persistent prayer and fasting, to confess faults to one another and pray for one another that you may be healed, James 5:16, to speak the Word of God over your home, to forgive as Christ forgave you, and to seek wise, biblical counsel from a mature, Christ centered pastor together, not only prayer for her but discipleship for both of you.
We now pray together.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We thank You for this marriage covenant that You have ordained. We ask for Your mercy and forgiveness for any sin, bitterness, pride, anger or unforgiveness in both husband and wife. We rebuke in the name of Jesus every spirit of separation, division, strife, disobedience and confusion that has attacked this home and we command it to leave and go to the place You appoint. We ask You to fill this wife with Your Holy Spirit, to soften her heart, to bring conviction, healing and a willing spirit to love and respect her husband as unto You. We ask You to fill this husband with Your love, patience, wisdom and strength to love his wife as Christ loves the church, to lead with gentleness and not with harshness, and to dwell with her with understanding. Restore oneness, restore the marriage bed in purity, restore communication and peace, and let no man or spirit separate what You have joined together. Let Your will be done in this family, let deliverance and restoration come for Your glory, and draw both husband and wife into a deeper personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We pray this in the name above all names, Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
