Thank you for sharing this need about your daughter and the pain she is having in her stomach. I am joining with you in prayer right now and agreeing with you before the Father for her healing and comfort.
Prayer for the sick was a regular part of the life of Jesus and of the early church. Jesus healed many who were brought to him, and in the book of Acts people brought the sick to the apostles for prayer. We come to the same Lord today, believing he still hears and cares and is able to heal.
Scripture says the earnest, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much. It is not just words, but prayer that comes from the heart, often out of deep need and desperation. And Jesus said that if two or three agree on earth concerning anything they ask, it will be done by the Father. So I am agreeing with you in faith for your daughter.
We also remember that God desires to be to us whatever our need requires. When we pray for healing he reveals himself as the Lord our healer. We pray not simply to get our own will done, but to see his will accomplished, trusting his love and wisdom. Sometimes he brings immediate healing, as when Jesus laid his hands on Jairus daughter who was at the point of death, and as when he said to the suffering woman, Daughter your faith has made you whole, go in peace and be whole. At other times, as with Paul who prayed three times and heard the answer, My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness, God works through his grace to sustain and strengthen us while we wait.
Make prayer your first response, not your last resort. Bring this need to the Father who invites you to call him Father through faith in Jesus Christ. Begin with worship, tell him your request plainly, and then return to worship, trusting him with the outcome. That cycle of worship, petition and worship again brings peace even as we wait for his answer.
Prayer does not replace wise action, it goes before it. So continue to pray and also take prudent steps to care for her, seeking proper medical help and watching over her with love and attention.
Let us pray together. Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. I lift up this precious daughter to you and ask for your mercy and healing touch upon her stomach. You know her pain and you love her more than we do. Lay your hand upon her, ease her suffering, and bring healing according to your perfect will. Give her parents wisdom, peace and strength, and let your grace be sufficient for them today. Comfort her, let her rest well, and restore her to health. We ask this in the name of Jesus our Lord, amen.
