Beloved of All
Your longing to have the inner chamber of your soul and spirit filled is precious in the sight of God, for He puts that hunger in the heart so that we will seek Him more earnestly.
Scripture teaches that the Word of God is living and powerful and pierces even to the dividing of soul and spirit, discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. It does not leave us as it finds us, but searches what is most inward, cuts away what is sinful, and makes room for holiness. To be filled is not only to feel comfort, but to be made holy.
So we pray for you that God would sanctify you through His truth, for His Word is truth, and that He would fill you with His Holy Spirit. The Spirit is given to those who wait for Him with longing and who turn from sin with a willing choice toward what is good. Willing is planted in us by God, but to will what is right is our own movement toward Him, and God honors that turning.
We ask the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to God, to do this work in you. May He cast out sloth and love for the things of this passing life, and cause you to esteem Christ above all. Even affliction, when received with trust, can become profitable, drawing down the grace of the Spirit and making us partakers of His holiness.
Watch and pray, for the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Give yourself to the Word daily, to prayer, to repentance where needed, and to fellowship with faithful believers who will help you stand in one spirit and one soul for the faith of the gospel.
Our prayer is this. Father, look upon this soul that desires You. Forgive sin through the blood of Jesus, cleanse the heart, and fill the soul and spirit with Your presence, with right doctrine, with love for what is pure, and with power to walk in obedience. Make this life a dwelling place for Christ, freed from earthly entanglements and set upon heaven, that in all things Your name would be honored. Amen.
