We hear the cry of your heart and we stand with you in this deep longing to feel God near, and we bring your need before the Father together in Jesus name.
We understand what it is to ache for His presence, and we want you to know that God is not far from you even when you cannot feel Him. His Word tells us Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. And James 4:8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. The very desire you have to feel Him is evidence that He is already drawing you to Himself. We also take comfort in Psalm 34:18 Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. He sees your longing and He is close, even in moments when His presence feels distant.
We want to gently share that our relationship with God is not based only on feelings, though feelings are precious. His presence is a reality grounded in His promise, not in our emotions. Feelings can come and go, but His Word remains true when it says in Acts 17:27 that he is not far from each one of us. Sometimes we feel Him powerfully, and other times we walk by faith trusting that He is still holding us. Jesus invites you in Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. He wants you to come honestly, just as you are, with your need and your hunger for Him.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and can truly experience His presence. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To feel God in the fullness of His love and forgiveness, we must come through His Son who died for our sins and rose again. If you have not yet placed your trust in Him, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for Romans 10:9 tells us that in this way we are saved and brought into the family of God where His Spirit lives within us.
We pray for you now.
Father, we lift this precious soul to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We thank You that You see this hunger to feel You badly and that You desire to be known even more than we desire to know You. We ask You to pour out Your presence upon this dear one, to quiet the heart and mind and to make Your nearness unmistakable. Let Your Holy Spirit bring comfort, assurance, and peace that passes all understanding. Draw this dear one close as they draw near to You, wash away any sin or doubt that may hinder fellowship, and help them to hear Your voice through Your Word. Reveal Yourself through Scripture, through prayer, and through worship, and help them to walk by faith trusting that You are near even when feelings fade. We pray that they would know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge and be filled with all the fullness of God, and that they would rest in the assurance that nothing can separate them from Your love. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, Amen.
We encourage you to keep seeking Him daily, to open His Word and let Him speak to you, to speak to Him honestly in prayer throughout the day, and to worship Him even in the quiet. He is faithful to reveal Himself to those who seek Him with their whole heart, and we are continuing to pray that you will tangibly feel His love, His peace, and His presence in the days ahead.
