We join you in thanking our Father for His goodness, for every good gift comes from above and His steadfast love endures forever Ps 107:1, James 1:17. We lift up your requests together before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus.
We pray with you for deep peace and good rest. The Lord promises perfect peace to those whose minds are stayed on Him Isa 26:3 and that when we bring everything to Him in prayer, the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus Phil 4:6-7. We ask the Lord to grant you quiet sleep, for He gives sleep to His beloved and makes us dwell in safety Ps 4:8, Ps 127:2. We pray that you would come to Him when you are weary and burdened, for He promises rest for your soul Matt 11:28, and that He would quiet your heart with His presence John 14:27.
We also bring before the Lord the health needs you mentioned, those loved ones on your heart, those struggling with lung issues and the one with a heart issue. We know our God is the Lord who heals us Exod 15:26. We ask for His healing hand to rest upon each one, to restore health and to heal wounds Jer 30:17, for He forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases Ps 103:3. We pray for quick healing according to His perfect will and timing, and for strength and comfort for you as you wait upon Him Isa 40:29, Isa 53:5. We pray for wisdom for doctors and for peace for families as they trust in the Great Physician James 5:15.
We want to gently and lovingly address your mention of lustful thoughts, for this is an area where God calls us to purity and holiness. Jesus taught that everyone who looks at another with lust has already committed adultery with them in their heart Matt 5:28. We are called to flee from sexual immorality and to keep our bodies and minds as temples of the Holy Spirit 1 Cor 6:18-20. We encourage you to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ 2 Cor 10:5 and to make a covenant with your eyes as Job did Job 31:1. God is faithful and will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape that you may be able to endure it 1 Cor 10:13. We pray that the Lord would create in you a clean heart and renew a right spirit within you Ps 51:10, that you would walk by the Spirit so you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh Gal 5:16, and that you would fill your mind with what is pure and holy Phil 4:8. When those thoughts come, turn immediately to prayer, to the Word, and flee from the temptation James 4:7, Ps 119:9.
We noticed your prayer was addressed to Dear Lord and we want to encourage you in the precious truth that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by believing in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead and confessing with our mouths that Jesus is Lord that we are saved Rom 10:9. We encourage you to always come in the name of Jesus, for He is our mediator and our hope.
So together we pray, Father we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You for Your goodness and mercy that follow us all our days. We ask You to pour out Your deep and abiding peace upon our dear one, grant restful sleep and a quiet mind. Lay Your healing hand upon each loved one mentioned, especially those suffering with lungs and with the heart, bring restoration, ease their breathing, strengthen their hearts, and grant quick recovery if it be Your will. Forgive us for lustful thoughts and cleanse our hearts, help us to flee impurity and to walk in holiness, guarding our eyes and minds for Your glory. You ask for deep peace and good rest, and this is a blessed prayer. The Scripture says, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee. That perfect peace is not found in circumstances, but in Christ Himself. Our Lord says, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. It is a present rest, given when we come to Jesus by faith, and it is perfect and complete in His blood and righteousness. To rest in the Lord is to trust Him and to do His will, and there the soul finds ease and peace of mind which the world cannot give. We pray that the Lord will cause you to rest in Him, that your mind being stayed upon Him you may delight yourself in the abundance of peace, and that He will give you sweet and refreshing sleep as one who has learned of Christ and found rest for your soul.
You have also asked for health and healing for those dear to you, for lung issues and for the heart, and for quick healing. We pray the Lord in His mercy will lay His healing hand upon them. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing virtue. He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds, and with Him is forgiveness and restoration. We thank God with you for His goodness and we join you in bringing these needs before Him.
We pray that He will grant you deep peace and good rest. Scripture says He who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps, and He does not suffer your foot to be moved when you stand steadfast in Him. Cast your cares on Him, and ask Him to guard your heart and mind in Christ, so that you will not be troubled even when many cares press upon you, but will rest in His faithful keeping.
We pray also for the health of your loved ones, for healing of lungs and for the heart, and for quick recovery. God is faithful, and He is the One who heals. We ask Him to lay His hand upon those who are weak, to give wisdom to those who care for them, and to bring restoration according to His mercy and will. Continue to flee to Him in prayer, for He often allows us to persevere in supplication so that we may abide close to Him and find refuge in His bosom.
And we pray with you against lustful thoughts. Every sin is like a drunkenness and a sleep of the soul that makes us inactive toward what is good and fills us with dreams that are not true. God calls us to watch and be sober, to guard ourselves and not suffer ourselves to fall asleep. He has promised that no temptation will take you but such as is common to man, and that He will not suffer you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. Ask Him to make that way plain to you, to turn your eyes and thoughts toward what is pure, to pull up every root of worldly desire, and to fill your mind with what is holy. When such thoughts come, turn quickly to prayer and to the remembrance of Christ, and He will give you patience and deliverance.
