Thank you for sharing this request and for trusting that God knows exactly what you are carrying. He does. Jesus taught that your Father knows what you need before you ask Him, so prayer is not about informing God of something He does not know. It is about opening your heart to Him so He can do what He has wanted to do all along without violating your will, and bringing your heart into agreement with His will.
That is why the wisest and most peaceful prayer we can pray is simply, Lord, have Your way in my life. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done. We often come to God wanting Him to do our will and to do it quickly, like David crying out, make haste to help me, and God understands that urgency. He invites you to pour out your complaint before Him just as David did, even if the prayer is only in your heart without words. In that place of prayer the Spirit ministers comfort and assurance, and God becomes your strong habitation where you can continually find refuge.
God wants to bless you, to keep His hand upon you, to keep you from evil and to enlarge His work in your life, but His blessing always flows within His perfect will, which is far better than anything we could ask for ourselves. If we could change His will through persistence, it would be a terrible thing, because His plan for you is the very best. So we do not pray to bend God to our desires, but to see His good purposes accomplished on earth as they are in heaven.
You do not need to have long or eloquent prayers. The prayers recorded in Scripture are often very short. What matters is a heart that is turned toward God in simple trust, like a child, and a relationship with Him as Father through Jesus Christ. If anyone has not yet come to Him, the one prayer God longs to hear first is, God be merciful to me, a sinner, trusting in Jesus alone for salvation. That relationship opens the door to all prayer.
Be assured that prayer does make a difference. Scripture says the fervent, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person avails much, and gives the example of Elijah, a man like us, whose prayer God answered. When we agree together in prayer, Jesus promised He hears. There are many things God does in response to prayer that would not happen otherwise, not because we change His mind, but because we invite Him to act.
So we are joining with you now and praying for you. Father, we thank You that You know this need fully. We ask that You work Your perfect will in this life. Be a strong refuge and strength. Bless and keep this dear one, let Your hand be upon them, keep them from evil, and give peace that trusts You even when Your ways are not understood. We pray this in the name of Jesus, trusting that You have heard, and we give You praise for Your faithfulness and righteousness to answer according to Your perfect love. Amen.
