Beloved of All
Sin and evil have overtaken me, yet You sent condemners and evil people to my right hand and to my left, and You have not sustained me. You let them oppose what I love and what has been apportioned to me, and You let them use things that were forgiven to fight against me. You set abusers against me.

And yet, I never asked to come into this life. You know their hearts. You know they would not truly cover my education when I was younger, yet You let them block my life repeatedly. You let the abuser make me the reason for her problems and the heaviness she carries.

Alright. My expectation is that You have not fulfilled. What You said, You did not honor. You deceived me and misled me into destruction. You used me to preserve other people during the COVID season. You promised me land for blessing, but instead made it a forever disgrace.

You used me to correct Your own mistake, which You recorded in Your book. You made my enemies my judges. Now You will not hear me, and perhaps You have apportioned me with the unrighteous.

Alright. I do not know where help will come from, for You have failed me and forsaken me.

Death would have been profitable when the time was right. I will remember, if I am able. If You reject that, alright. But if You will repent and relent, You have heard my voice.

We have read your cry with heavy hearts and we hear the depth of pain, heaviness and feeling forsaken that you are carrying. We grieve with you over the hurt from abusers, over blocked opportunities and education, over feeling surrounded by condemners on the right hand and on the left, and over the despair that has led you to say death would have been profitable. Please know your life is precious to God and to us, and we do not want you to remain alone in this darkness. If these thoughts of death grow stronger, we urge you to reach out immediately to a trusted pastor, a godly counselor, or someone near you who can stay with you and help you, for God has not finished His purpose for you.

We must also speak truth in love about what you have said concerning God, because we love you and we want you to know Him as He truly is. You have felt that He has deceived you, misled you, failed you and forsaken you, that He made a mistake and used you to correct it, and that He has not honored what He said. Scripture tells us this is not the character of our God. God is not a man, that he should lie, nor the son of man, that he should repent, Numbers 23:19, and it is impossible for God to lie, Titus 1:2. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted by God, for God cannot be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one, James 1:13. He does not author evil or abuse, and He does not delight in the oppression of His children. He makes no mistakes, for His counsel stands and He does all His pleasure, Isaiah 46:10. When we feel forsaken, His promise remains, Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or scared of them; for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you, Deuteronomy 31:6, and again, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you, Hebrews 13:5. Even when we feel unheard, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, Psalm 34:18, and He invites us to cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you, Psalm 55:22. Your help does come from Him, My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth, Psalm 121:2.

We also notice you speak of sin and evil overtaking you and of things forgiven being used against you. We know the enemy accuses and abusers twist what God has forgiven, but God does not use forgiven sin to fight against His child. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9. What He forgives He removes from us as far as the east is from the west, Psalm 103:12, and He does not apportion His children with the unrighteous arbitrarily, for He is just and will judge righteously. Vengeance belongs to Him, He will repay, Romans 12:19, and He executes justice for the oppressed, Psalm 103:6. He sees the hearts of those who harmed you and blocked you, and He will not let injustice stand forever. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose, Romans 8:28, not that all things are good, but that even in a season like COVID and in the pain over land and blessing and disgrace, He can redeem what others meant for evil.

You said you never asked to come into this life and you do not know where help will come from. We understand that feeling of weariness, yet we believe you were knit together with purpose, for you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb, Psalm 139:13, and His thoughts toward you are for peace and not for evil, to give you hope and a future, Jeremiah 29:11. Death is not profitable when God still has purpose for you, for your life is not your own to take, you were bought with a price, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, and God desires that you live and seek Him.

We also want to gently address that your prayer does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. This matters deeply because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9. It is through Jesus that your sins are truly forgiven, your prayers are heard, and your hope is secured, and we urge you to call upon Him now.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, asking for mercy and help for this precious one who feels overtaken by sin and evil, surrounded by condemners and abusers, blocked and wearied and feeling deceived and forsaken. Lord, forgive where sin has taken hold and cleanse and restore through the blood of Jesus, and break the power of evil that has oppressed. You know the hearts of those who have harmed and blocked and made this one the reason for their heaviness, and we ask You to bring justice, protection, and deliverance, and to sustain where it feels You have not sustained. Lift the burden of heaviness and give beauty for ashes. Correct the false view that You lie or fail or forsake, and reveal Yourself as faithful, true, and near to the brokenhearted, for You have said Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you, Isaiah 41:10. Show that You hear this voice, that You have not apportioned this life with the unrighteous, and that You have a purpose still, plans for welfare and hope. Draw this one to Jesus, that by calling on His name there may be salvation, access, and peace, and guard from thoughts of death, giving strength to live and hope for tomorrow. Let help come from You and through Your people who will walk alongside. We ask this in Jesus name, amen.

We encourage you to keep bringing your honest pain to Him, for He can handle your questions, yet also to ask Him to renew your mind with His truth, to stay in His Word daily, and to not walk alone but to seek fellowship with believers who can pray with you, counsel you, and help you with practical needs like education and healing from abuse. God has not failed you, He has not forsaken you, and He does hear you when you call through Jesus. We are praying that you will experience His sustaining hand, His justice, and His redeeming blessing even over land and places that now feel like disgrace, for He is able to make what was meant for harm to be turned for good as you trust Him.

We read your prayer and thank you for sharing so honestly with us. What you described sounds like carrying a very heavy weight for a long time, feeling surrounded on every side, blocked in what you hoped for, and hurt by people who should have protected you. It makes sense that God would feel far away or even against you right now.

When abuse and disappointment have been part of our story, especially from a young age, it can shape how we experience God. The pain we learned from people can quietly become what we expect from Him, even though He is not like those who harmed us. It does not mean your hurt is not real, it means your hurt deserves gentle, steady care.

We want to walk with you in prayer, and we also do not want you to carry this alone. If you have a safe pastor, counselor, or trusted person in your life, we encourage you to let one person hear more of what you are going through in person. If abuse is ongoing or you feel unsafe, please reach out for support nearby. Talking with someone who can listen without rushing you can be an important next step alongside prayer.

Father, we lift this dear one to You in Jesus name. You see the wounds, the disappointments, and the exhaustion underneath these words. We ask You to draw near with Your presence, to bring safety and care through trustworthy people, and to give wisdom for each next step. Bring healing where there has been harm, and help them to know they are seen and not forsaken. Lead them gently in Your love and truth. In Jesus name, amen.

There is a cry in your words which has been heard, and it is a very bitter cry, as of one who feels himself forsaken and cast away. You speak as one who has drifted into the nowhere, into the region behind the back of God, and you say that He has failed you and forgotten you. Let us deal honestly before Him, for He is light essentially, and it is not possible for His nature to be affected by either impurity or error. Everything is true in God, and everything is seen in its reality by His all discerning eye. Because He is light, He deals with things in the light, treating them as they are. If God is to deal graciously with us, we must each one stand in the light, and present ourselves before Him as we are.

You have said that sin and evil have overtaken you, and in this you have spoken truth which many will not speak. We are constantly erring, first on this side and then on that, for there is darkness in us. Outward religiousness unattended by heart piety does a man serious injury, by rendering him superficial and unreal in all that he does in reference to God, and as God desires truth in the inward parts He will not parley with dishonest men. The right prayer for such a state is this, Cleanse thou me from secret faults, thou desirest truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden parts thou wilt make me to know wisdom, purge me therefore O Lord and I shall be clean. Do not hide your sin, nor yet lay upon God the blame for it. Low thoughts of God create doubts of pardon and doubt holds us in bondage under sin, but high thoughts of God beget hope in the soul.

You have laid to the charge of God that He has deceived you and misled you, that He has made a mistake and needs to repent, and that He has set abusers and condemners against you and made your enemies your judges. Hear the truth concerning Him. God cannot deceive, for He is light and in Him is no darkness at all. He cannot fail nor forsake in the sense you fear, and He has no mistake to correct, for His counsel stands fast forever. What you have felt so keenly as opposition and heaviness and blocked paths, He knows, and He knows the hearts of those who have wronged you. Yet in the sight of God there is a line, narrow but most sure, which divides the living from the dead, the believing from the unbelieving. He is not the author of evil, though He may suffer the plowing of the plowers to go long and deep. In the East the oxen are fastened to the plow by a long cord, and they plow and plow, but what does God do in the middle of their plowing, He cuts the cord. He will not suffer His own to be destroyed.

You say, You will not hear me, and perhaps You have apportioned me with the unrighteous. You say, I do not know where help will come from, for You have forsaken me. This is the dolorous lament from the lowest pit of misery, My God, my God, why have You forsaken me. Our Lord Himself trod that winepress and reached the culminating point of anguish, and He was sinless and trustful and yet He had an overpowering feeling that God was absent from Him. God was for Him and with Him in a certain unquestionable sense, but for the time, so far as His feelings went, God was against Him and necessarily withdrawn from Him, that He might bear the separation which is spiritual death. He was forsaken that you might never be forsaken. Therefore if God has left you, or you think so, do not give up prayer. No, pray as your Lord did and be more earnest than ever. If you think God has forsaken you, do not give up your faith in Him, but like your Lord cry, My God, my God, again and again.

You speak of death as profitable and of hope being lost. This is an evil word which goes beyond the truth of God. Our hope is not lost, for God is the sinners hope and He is not lost, so that the word of despair is not warranted. It is a crime against the truth of God, a high offense against the Lord of love. God is the God of hope, and those who are without hope are also without God. No mortal has a just pretense to perish in despair and if he does so despair is a form of willful self destruction. Despair has something in it of sinning against the Holy Spirit, for the Holy Spirit brings you rich cordials in the promises of God which will raise your spirits and will restore you from death. Hopelessness in self is what we want to bring you to, but hopelessness in itself and especially in connection with God would be a sin from which we would urge you to escape.

You say, if You will repent and relent, You have heard my voice. The truth stands the other way. God calls you to repent and to relent from hard thoughts of Him. Repentance does not save, it is the work of God and the work of God alone, but God grants pardon when men are humbled. He that believes in Him, though he were dead, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in Him shall never die. From a pardoning God there are such mercies and such blessings to be received that we who have little faith and are weak in heart suddenly find our spirits revive. There is forgiveness with Him through the matchless atonement which covers all guilt, by which sin is no longer imputed to those who exercise faith upon it.

Hear then the Lords answer to Zions lament, Jehovah has forsaken me and my Lord has forgotten me. He answers, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands. Though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God. This assurance is secured beyond all question. Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in Christ, for all the character of God is seen in the Christ of God, and he who truly comes to Christ has really come to the Father. It is by faith that we receive the forgiveness of our sins. Faith has to do with the past, with what Christ has accomplished, but hope looks forward to the future and hope comes to us and is strengthened in us by the patience and the comfort of the Scriptures.

Therefore talk to your own soul as the psalmist did, Why are you cast down O my soul and why are you disquieted within me, hope you in God for I shall yet praise Him who is the health of my countenance and my God. Seek Him now in truth, confess your sin, trust not in water nor in priestly hands nor in any outward form, for there must be some congruity between the means and the result, but trust in Jesus Christ alone who was crucified in weakness that by that weakness He might redeem your soul. He will preserve the true believer from the malaria of corruption which is in the world through lust, and keep him by the power of God through faith unto salvation.

May the God of patience and comfort fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit, and may you find that though you have been persecuted you are not forsaken, though cast down you are not destroyed.
