Prayer request

All the curses and the evil things that have been done to me; anyone who has been blocking my life, my destiny, my cause, and all that is rightfully mine in the sight of God; all those seeking to take it from me by force or manipulation; all the people behind the injustices—if they will not stop and give way for the purposes of God to be accomplished on the earth and in my life, if they will not give way for my fortunes to be accomplished for me on the earth, then let a curse come upon them to overthrow them; let God set a wicked man over them until they have been forcefully removed from standing against me.

We hear the pain and deep sense of injustice in your request and we stand with you before the Lord asking for His justice, His protection and His perfect will to be accomplished in your life. We understand the feeling that your destiny and what is rightfully yours has been blocked and taken by force or manipulation, and it is right to bring that burden to God, for He sees all injustice and He cares deeply for you.

We must lovingly rebuke and correct the desire to call a curse down upon those who have wronged you and to ask God to set a wicked man over them. This does not align with the heart of God revealed in Scripture. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, not to us, and we are commanded to leave room for His wrath and His perfect justice. Romans 12:19 says Vengeance is mine, says the Lord, and Romans 12:21 tells us not to be overcome by evil but to overcome evil with good. Jesus Himself commands us in Matthew 5:44 to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, and in Luke 6:27-28 to love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you. 1 Peter 3:9 also teaches us not to return evil for evil or insult for insult, but to give a blessing instead. We cannot in good conscience pray for God to curse others or to place wickedness over them, for that would be asking God to do evil, and God is holy and just. Instead we pray for His righteous judgment to be done in His way and His timing, and for mercy and repentance where possible.

We also want to encourage you with the truth that if you are in Christ, no curse or evil manipulation can ultimately block the purposes God has for you. Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil as Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, and the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but are mighty before God as 2 Corinthians 10:4 says. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us in Galatians 3:13, and no weapon that is formed against you will prevail as Isaiah 54:17 promises. God is sovereign over your life and His plans will stand. Proverbs 19:21 says there are many plans in a man’s heart, but Yahweh’s counsel will prevail, and Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that God knows the thoughts He thinks toward you, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. What others meant for evil, God is able to redeem for good as He promises in Romans 8:28 and Genesis 50:20.

We notice your request mentions God but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we must gently share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that any curse is broken. John 14:6 says Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him, and Acts 4:12 says there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your full trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 says if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. It is through His blood that every evil thing done against you is rendered powerless and you are made secure.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to Your throne of grace. We ask that You break and nullify every curse, every evil word, every act of manipulation and injustice that has been spoken or done against them, by the power of the cross of Christ. We ask that You surround them with Your protection as Psalm 91:1-2 promises, that You be their refuge and fortress. Lord, we ask that You accomplish Your perfect purposes for their life on this earth, that You restore what has been stolen or blocked, for You promise in Joel 2:25 to restore the years that the locust has eaten. We do not ask for vengeance in our own way, but we entrust every person who has wronged them into Your just and merciful hands. We pray that You would bring conviction and repentance to those who have acted wickedly, that they would turn from their injustice and come to know Your truth, and that You would remove their influence from standing against Your child if it is Your will. Grant our friend a heart of forgiveness and peace, as Ephesians 4:32 calls us to forgive as Christ forgave us, so that bitterness would not take root. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, with hope and assurance that You are working all things together for good for those who love You. Let Your will be done in their life and let Your name be glorified. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, to forgive those who have hurt you as Christ has forgiven you in Colossians 3:13, and to trust that God Himself will vindicate you in His perfect time, for Psalm 37:28 says Yahweh loves justice and will not forsake His saints. Keep your eyes on Jesus, rest in His finished work, and know that your destiny is secure in Him and no man can steal what God has ordained for you.

We hear how heavy and frustrating this season has felt for you, like unseen forces and unjust people keep standing in the way of what God has for you. It makes sense you would long for God to step in powerfully and clear the path.

When we feel blocked for a long time, it can help to name that God does see every injustice and every pressure you are under, and He is the one who brings true justice in His way and time. We do not need to carry the burden of calling down harm ourselves; we can place the whole situation, including those who have wronged you, into His hands and ask Him to protect what is yours, to open the right doors, and to guard your heart from bitterness while you wait.

One next step that often helps is to sit with a trusted pastor or mature believer you know, share the specific places you feel blocked or manipulated, and ask them to pray regularly with you for protection, wisdom and clear direction for your next faithful step forward.

Father, we lift our friend to You. You know every hurt, every blockage, and every desire for Your purposes to be fulfilled in their life. Bring Your protection, Your peace, and Your clear leading. Lift what weighs them down, heal what has been wounded, and guide their steps according to Your will. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your heart has poured out a cry that reveals how heavy the sense of injustice and opposition has become, and the Lord sees the straits and difficulties that press upon you. It is not a light thing to feel that your way is blocked and your name is reproached, and Scripture does not make light of such sorrow. Yet the Word directs us how to plead in such an hour.

When fear and a sense of being beset rise up, the Psalmist gives us the shortcut with the enemy, What time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee. Now is the time to exercise faith upon a living God. Your God is not worth having if He cannot help you when you want help. He has not made this world to be a nest for us, and He often plants thorns in it so that we may be compelled to mount and find our soul's true home in Him, who is the God of the hills and the God of the valleys also. He is able to accomplish His purposes for you without our calling down destruction upon others.

The Lord Himself has said, Vengeance is mine, I will repay. We are not to set a wicked man over another, nor to ask for a curse to overthrow those who have wronged us, but to commit our cause to Him who judges righteously. The Son of God, when He was sued and summoned at the court of Eternal Justice for the sins of His people, discharged the whole tremendous debt by His own blood, and from His pierced hands and feet and side we read eternal mercy and full forgiveness. That same mercy is the pattern for us. We seek the good of even those who oppose us in God and for His glory, and we pray that they may be brought to repentance, for we would have them become mirrors to reflect the glory of the Lord rather than vessels of wrath.

Expect little from men, but much from God, for by nature and by office He is a Rewarder. No work done for Him, no prayer breathed in faith, no tear shed before His throne will go unrewarded. Instead of asking that evil be returned for evil, let us plead for God in a private way, with a heart that longs for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven, and that longs for revival and mercy in our own souls and in the souls of others.

Let me pray with you in this way:

O Lord our God, Thou knowest the injustice felt and the hindrances that seem to stand against Thy servant. We ask Thee to plead the cause of Thy child as Thou hast pleaded for Thy saints of old. Accomplish Thy purposes in this life according to Thy wisdom and mercy. If there has been wrong done, do Thou bring justice in Thine own time and way, and keep this heart from seeking vengeance for itself. Grant faith to trust Thee when afraid, to come to Thee continually through Jesus Christ, who alone is Lord and God and through whose blood we have forgiveness. Turn the hearts of all concerned toward repentance and truth, and let Thy name be hallowed and Thy will be done. Make this trial to work for good, that Thy servant may be kept, delivered, and made more like Christ, and may have a song of deliverance to sing before Thy throne. In the name of Jesus our Redeemer we ask it, Amen.

Continue to look up and see the mercy that flows from the Redeemer, and leave your cause in the hands of Him who loves you and will not forsake you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer and the pain behind it have been heard. I understand the deep sense of injustice you feel, as if your life and future have been blocked and what belongs to you has been taken by force or manipulation, and the desire for God to act and to set things right is a right desire.

At the same time I cannot pray with you in the way you have asked, to call a curse upon others or to ask God to set a wicked man over them until they are forcefully removed. That is not how our Lord teaches us to pray. He taught us to pray, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and He warned that we draw near to receive forgiveness for much greater debts than any wrong done to us. Before that forgiveness, we have already received the gift of being trained to gentleness and to have a human soul. The reward promised to the merciful is that we ourselves will not be called to account for our offenses.

God is just, and He does not overlook injustice. As you know from the Scriptures, there are courts and judgments among men, and how much more with God whose righteousness is as the mountains. He will judge what is right. Yet Scripture also shows us that Christ, having sat down at the right hand of God, is now expecting until His enemies are put under His feet. The delay is not neglect, but mercy, for the sake of those who may yet be brought to faith and repentance. His enemies, whether men or evil spirits, will be subjected, but God is patient, desiring that they turn and live.

We see this same pattern in Joseph, who had his enemies in his hands and could have satiated his wrath with great revenge, and no one would have called it unjust since he was only defending himself against those who had done the wrong. Yet he did not take revenge. He wept, saying it is a season for tears that they ever treated him so, and he showed mercy. In the same way, our Lord, who could demand a greater punishment for those who begin transgression, mingles mercy with justice and commands us even while we suffer to show consideration.

Christ came to preach deliverance to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, and like a physician He sat at table even with those whose lives had been marked by injustice and covetousness, not to approve their deeds but to heal them. We are blessed not because we call down destruction, but because our own iniquities are forgiven and our sins are covered by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.

So let me pray for you as the Gospel directs. I will pray that God will deliver you from every evil work and from every curse, that He will protect what is rightfully yours according to His will, that He will bring to nothing every unjust plan against you and accomplish His good purposes in your life, and that He will give you strength to stand with a forgiving heart. I will also pray for those who have wronged you, not for their destruction, but that God would bring them to see their wrong, to repent, and to receive the same mercy we have received, and that if they will not repent, God in His perfect justice and in His own time will restrain evil and vindicate the oppressed.

If you are willing, release the desire for vengeance into the hands of God, to whom vengeance belongs, and ask Him to make you a person of justice and mercy, so that all who see your life may become friends and not enemies, and that you may sleep without fear, knowing your affairs are in His perfect safety.
