Please pray for my grandma ### that she will rest in peace & that God will forgive all of her sins..She died yesterday. Please also pray for me and my family to have courage and be strong.
Thank you!

We join with you in mourning the loss of your grandmother and we grieve with you and your family in this difficult time. We thank you for sharing this burden with us so we can seek the Lord together for comfort and strength.

We want to gently share what Scripture teaches about resting in peace and the forgiveness of sins. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 9:27 it is appointed for men to die once, and after this, judgment. This shows us that the opportunity to receive forgiveness and to be reconciled to God is in this life, through faith in Jesus Christ, and that after death each person faces the righteous and perfect judgment of God. We cannot pray for God to forgive sins after someone has passed, but we can trust in His perfect justice, His mercy, and His knowledge of every heart. True rest and peace are found only in Jesus, for Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and the forgiveness of sins. In Romans 10:9 it says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. This promise is for all of us who are still living, and we encourage you and your family to turn to Jesus for your own assurance of salvation and peace, trusting that He is both loving and just concerning your grandmother.

For you and your family who are grieving, we know the Lord is near to the brokenhearted. In Psalm 34:18 Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. In Psalm 147:3 He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. God is the Father of mercies and God of all comfort in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 who comforts us in all our affliction. He promises to strengthen those who mourn and to give courage to those who fear. In Isaiah 41:10 Dont you be afraid, for I am with you. Dont be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And we hold to the hope of Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away from them every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more, neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more.

We pray together with you. Father in heaven, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we lift up this dear family in their sorrow. We ask for Your comfort to surround them, to heal their broken hearts and to bind up their wounds. Give them courage and strength for each day, uphold them with Your righteous right hand, and let them feel Your nearness in their grief. We thank You that You are merciful and just, and we entrust their grandmother into Your hands, trusting Your perfect judgment and Your love. Help this family to seek You with all their hearts, to put their faith in Jesus for the forgiveness of their own sins and for the hope of eternal life, so they may know true peace that passes all understanding. Draw them closer to You and to each other in this time, and let Your presence be their refuge. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this with us. We are so sorry for the loss of your grandmother, especially so fresh as yesterday. We can hear how much you loved her and how much you want her to be at peace, and how much you want strength for your family right now.

In these early days grief can feel very heavy and also very different from person to person in the same family. Some may want to talk a lot, others may go quiet, some may feel numb. All of that can be a normal part of mourning. It helps to give each other grace and time, and not to carry it alone.

One thing that often helps in the first week is to simply stay close together, share stories about your grandma when you are ready, and let your church family or a trusted pastor know how you are doing so you have steady support around you. Be gentle with sleep and meals as you walk through the arrangements and the days ahead.

Father, in Jesus name we entrust ### to Your mercy and care and ask for Your peace to rest over her. We lift this family to You and ask You to draw near with comfort and courage in the days ahead, holding them together in love and giving them strength for each step. Amen.

We have received your sorrowful request and we grieve with you in the loss of your grandmother. To lose one so near and dear brings a deep affliction, and we desire to comfort you with the comfort wherewith God comforts His people, for He has said, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.

In your love for her you ask that God would now forgive her sins and grant her rest. We must speak to you gently and truthfully according to the Word of God, which alone is our comfort in affliction. The Scripture teaches that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and that forgiveness is offered while we live, as we repent and believe upon Him. It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. For this reason we cannot pray that God would forgive sins after death, for the soul is then in the hands of Him who judges righteously and with perfect mercy. What we can do is entrust your grandmother to the Lord who sees the heart and does all things well, and we sorrow with you as those who leave their loved ones with Him.

For you and your family we will indeed pray as you have asked, that God would give you courage and strength. Human strength will spend itself and fail in due time, especially under such grief. But the promise stands, They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. When there remains no strength in you, then is the time to fling yourself upon the Divine strength and lay hold upon it. God Himself has said, I will strengthen them, and He will bestow it fitly and wisely as you wait upon Him in prayer.

May the Lord comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work. May His Word quicken you, for the external comfort of the Christian is the Word of God, and the Spirit quickens us and so we obtain comfort. We pray that He who is everlasting strength would sustain you, that you may find courage not in your own power but in secret communion with God, and that in this time of trial you would be drawn to seek the Lord Jesus Christ while He may be found, for in Him alone is rest and forgiveness and everlasting life.

We will bear you and your family before the throne of grace, asking that the God of all comfort would press His promises to your bosom and renew your strength day by day.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have received your request and we grieve with you in the loss of your grandmother. It is right to weep in such a time, and to bring your sorrow before the Lord who sees your grief and knows your need.

We join you in entrusting your grandmother to God, who is both perfectly merciful and perfectly just. Scripture teaches that forgiveness of sins and rest for the soul are given only through faith in Jesus Christ, and that this grace is received in this life. For those who have fallen asleep in Christ there is the sure promise of life and resurrection and the hope of being ever with the Lord. We leave your grandmother in the hands of our heavenly Father, trusting His perfect knowledge and His righteous judgment, and we thank Him for her life and for the love you shared with her.

For you and your family we pray that God will draw near to you in this mourning and give you courage and strength. Your heavenly Father knows that you have need of these things and He does not overlook His children in their extremity. In grief, take up the oracles of God as medicines for the soul. Read the Gospels and the apostolic writings, keep them in your mind, and let the promise of life which is in Jesus Christ lift up your heart. That promise reminds us that our hope is not only in this present life, but in the life to come where grief and mourning flee away.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in sorrow for this family in their bereavement. We entrust this grandmother to Your mercy and Your perfect justice, knowing that salvation and forgiveness come through Jesus Christ alone. We ask that You comfort this family with Your presence, give them courage and strength for each day, and guard their hearts with Your peace. Help them to find comfort in Your Word and to rest in the hope of the resurrection for all who are in Christ. Sustain them in love for one another and draw them closer to You through this trial. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.

May the Lord keep you and give you His comfort in the days ahead. Please let us know how you are doing, and we will continue to pray for you.
