Prayer request

We have received your renewed request with thanksgiving and we join you in lifting up your close relative before the Lord.

We give thanks to God that the cause of her pain has been found and that treatment has begun, and we pray with you that the Great Physician who heals all our infirmities will work through the medicines she has been given. We ask our Lord Jesus Christ in His mercy to dissolve the stone in her gallbladder, to relieve her pain completely, to restore her to health, and if it be His gracious will, to spare her from the need for surgery.

We pray also for wisdom and skill for the doctors who care for her, for peace and strength for her and for you and your family in this time of waiting, and for a firm trust that whether by medicine or by the hands of physicians, all healing comes from the Lord who loves us. As we gather in this house which is a spiritual surgery for our souls, we remember also to seek the healing of our bodies from Him who made them.

May the Lord grant her complete recovery, keep her in His care, and fill your hearts with confidence in His goodness. We will continue to pray for her healing and for your comfort, trusting all things to the grace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this update and for allowing us to pray with you for your relative. We are grateful to hear that the cause of the pain has been found and that treatment has begun, and we join you in asking the Lord for His healing touch upon her.

We are praying that the Lord will work through the medicines the doctors have given, that the stone in her gallbladder would dissolve and pass without the need for surgery, and that her pain would be fully relieved and her strength restored. We ask God to give wisdom to the doctors as they care for her and peace to her and to you as you wait and trust.

We believe that God is able to heal today, and that all healing comes from Him. Sometimes He heals instantly with a word or a touch, and sometimes He heals gradually through a process over time. Often He heals through the natural processes He Himself created within our bodies, and through the means of doctors and medicines. That kind of healing is no less divine, because He is the one who made our bodies and ordained the ways they can recover. We do not always understand why some are healed in one way and others in another, but we can come to Him with confidence knowing He is gracious and He cares.

Scripture speaks of Jesus as a living stone, rejected by men but chosen and precious to God, the sure cornerstone and foundation for those who trust in Him. When we come to Him we come to one who will not fail us. The same Scriptures tell us of the women who went to the tomb worried about who would roll away the great stone at the entrance, only to find when they arrived that God had already gone before them and the stone was rolled away. The stone was not moved to let the Lord out, but to let them in to see what God had done. In the same way, the worries we carry about stones in our path, including this stone that is causing such pain and concern, can be brought to Him. He goes before us and He is able to do what we cannot.

So we bring your relative before the Lord now, asking for His mercy and healing, for comfort from pain, for the medicine to be effective, and for surgery to be unnecessary if it is His will. We also pray that through this time she and your family would experience the nearness of Christ, the living stone, and know His peace that steadies our hearts when we are anxious.

May the Lord grant her complete healing and encourage you as you continue to trust Him. We will keep praying with you.
