Prayer request

Beloved of All
Dear Lord, thank you for your goodness. I pray for good rest, for ###’s health, for my ###, for healing for ## for their lung issues and quick healing, and against lustful thoughts

We join you in thanking the Lord for His goodness, for His mercies are new every morning and His faithfulness endures forever. We lift up your requests together before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus.

We pray first for good rest, that the Lord would grant you peaceful sleep and renewal. It is written, It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil, for he gives sleep to his loved ones Psalm 127:2. And Jesus invites us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. We ask the Father to quiet your mind and body at night, to guard your heart and to restore your strength as you trust in Him, for we read I will both lay myself down and sleep in peace, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety Psalm 4:8.

We also bring before the Lord the health needs you mentioned, including your loved ones whose names were redacted for privacy and especially the one suffering with lung issues. We ask for the Lord's healing hand and for quick recovery according to His perfect will. We remember that He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases Psalm 103:3 and Hear, Yahweh, and heal us Jeremiah 30:17 reminds us that He is the one who restores health and heals wounds. We pray too for the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up James 5:15, trusting not in our own timing but in the compassion and power of God to breathe strength into weak lungs and to bring complete healing.

We also want to address with love and truth your request for help against lustful thoughts. This is a battle many face, and Scripture calls us to take it seriously. Jesus said that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart Matthew 5:28. We are exhorted to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. Lustful thoughts are not harmless, they defile the heart and lead away from holiness and from the sanctity of marriage which God ordained between one man and one woman for life. We encourage you to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5 and to set your mind on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure Philippians 4:8. We pray you will flee temptation, resist the devil and he will flee from you James 4:7, and fill your mind with the Word, with prayer, and with accountability before God.

We noticed your prayer was addressed to the Lord but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We say this gently because we want you to know the full assurance of access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is only through faith in Jesus, His death and resurrection, that our prayers are heard and our sins are forgiven, if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. We encourage you to call upon His name with confidence.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we thank You for Your goodness and mercy. We ask in the name of Jesus that You grant our dear one deep and peaceful rest, that You watch over the health of each loved one mentioned, and that You touch lungs that are struggling and bring healing and easy breathing by Your power. Forgive us where we have entertained thoughts that do not honor You, cleanse our hearts, renew our minds, and help us to walk in purity and self control by Your Holy Spirit. Draw this one closer to Jesus, that he may know that through Christ alone he has access to Your throne and eternal life. We trust You for quick healing where it is Your will, and for grace to endure and grow in holiness. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.

Thank you for sharing your heart with us so honestly. We hear both gratitude and burden in your prayer, thankfulness for God's goodness, and at the same time a deep care for rest, for the people you love, and for your own walk with the Lord.

Carrying several concerns at once can be tiring in itself, especially when sleep is short and someone you love is struggling to breathe well. We are joining you in prayer for each of the needs you named, and we especially lift up the one with lung issues. Alongside prayer, we encourage you to make sure they are able to see a medical professional promptly for that, and if rest continues to be difficult for you, to talk with your clinician as well. God often works through both prayer and wise care.

We also hear your desire to walk cleanly before Him regarding lustful thoughts. That honesty matters to God, and we admire that you want to bring even that struggle into the light with Him rather than holding it alone. When those thoughts come, turning quickly to the Lord in a brief prayer and stepping away from what triggers them can be a steady, grace-filled practice, and it can help to have one trusted pastor or mature believer to be honest with as you keep seeking Him.

Father, we thank You for Your goodness to our friend and to the ones they love. We ask You to grant restful sleep, to watch over their loved ones, and to bring healing and comfort to the one with lung trouble according to Your will. Give wisdom to doctors and peace to this family, and strengthen our friend to walk in purity and in Your grace day by day. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

It is a good thing to join you in giving thanks unto the Lord for His goodness, for His mercies endure and His loving kindness fails not. We have heard your petitions and we bring them before the throne of grace together with you.

We pray first for that good rest of which our Lord speaks, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. This is a present rest, not only a rest to come, but rest given when we come to Jesus, there and then, and it is perfect rest for the soul that trusts Him. There is also that further rest which is found when we learn of Him and take His yoke upon us, a rest on the wing, a rest in motion and in service, with the yoke on, as we are made like minded with Christ. May the Lord grant you to enter into that rest by simple trust, and to find that deep and abiding rest which grows more and more as you learn of Him. May He quiet your heart and give you sleep as one whom the Lord keeps, for He giveth His beloved sleep, and may your mind be stayed upon Him.

We pray also for health, and especially for those lung issues you have laid before the Lord. We remember that the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and that the least thing about Christ has healing virtue. He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds, and with Him pardon and healing go together, for the Sun of righteousness arises with healing in His wings. Ask the Lord to lay His healing hand upon those lungs, to restore and to strengthen, and to grant quick healing according to His wise and gracious will. His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts higher than our thoughts, and His thoughts toward His people are constant, kind, tender and perfect. We can rest in His wisdom to do what is best, while we earnestly seek His mercy for complete recovery.

For those lustful thoughts which trouble you, we pray that the Lord will give you victory through a mind renewed after Christ. Our thoughts must be conformed to God's thoughts if we are to walk in fellowship with Him, and His thoughts are precious and pure. When we awake, may we be still with Him, and may holy thoughts of His precious thoughts place us near to Him. Learn of Christ, and you shall find rest unto your souls, for to be like minded with Him is to find the mind at rest from those intrusions which war against the soul. May the Lord help you to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, to watch over the eye and the heart, and to adorn your life with those things which lead thoughts aright. If sin has pressed upon you, remember that He forgives freely those who rest on Jesus, and where He pardons He also heals and cleanses.

So we pray, Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our only hope of salvation, grant to this dear soul thankful joy in Thy goodness, quiet rest in trusting Thee, health and healing for the body and especially for these lungs, and purity and power over every lustful thought. Keep the heart and mind through Christ Jesus, and let Thy perfect will be done. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing this prayer request and for beginning with thanksgiving for the goodness of God. It is good to come to Him with gratitude first, and then to lay every need before Him.

I join you in praying for good rest. Scripture speaks of a rest that remains for the people of God, and it also teaches us not to seek our rest only in this present life but to set our hope on what is laid up in heaven. May the Lord grant you peaceful sleep and also that deeper rest of heart that comes from trusting His care and looking to Him.

I also pray for health for your loved ones and for quick healing for the one suffering with lung issues. God is compassionate and He hears our prayers for healing. We ask Him to bring strength to the body, ease to breathing, and restoration according to His mercy and wisdom, and to give comfort and endurance to all who are caring for them.

For the struggle against lustful thoughts, you are not alone. Scripture says that no temptation has taken you except what is common to man, and that God is faithful. He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape so that you may be able to endure it. Lust, like other desires that belong to the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches, seeks to choke the word in our hearts. Pray for God to give you purity of mind, to turn your thoughts to Christ, to help you flee what harms the soul and to pursue what is holy. When those thoughts come, ask Him at once for the way of escape He has promised, whether through prayer, through turning to Scripture, through godly fellowship, or through turning your attention to useful and good work.

May the Lord keep you, grant you rest, bring healing where there is sickness, and strengthen you by His Spirit to stand firm and to live in peace.

Your thankfulness for the goodness of God is a beautiful place to start, and I join you in thanking Him with you. You asked for good rest, for health for loved ones, for healing for lung issues, and for help against lustful thoughts, and I want to lift each of these before the Lord with you.

The Scripture speaks of a rest that God has promised for His people, and that promise is still open. It is not a rest we earn by our own efforts or by trying harder to be good enough. We enter that rest through faith, by trusting in what Jesus has already finished for us on the cross and ceasing from our own works as God ceased from His. Many of us find it hard to rest because we want to see how God will work it out first, but true rest only comes when we believe Him even before we see the answer. Take heed to enter into that rest by faith, and guard against an unbelieving heart that would keep you in a wilderness of worry and anxiety. God wants to bring you into a place where you are not always fretting, but where you have a quiet confidence that He will take care of what concerns you.

That rest is also learned through commitment. When you commit your way to the Lord and trust Him, you can rest in Him and wait patiently for Him. There is a peace that comes when you say from the heart, Lord, my life and the lives of those I love are in Your hands, Your will be done, for I know Your will is best even when I do not understand it. Instead of trying to figure everything out or striving to make it happen yourself, you can simply rest on Him. He is able to keep what you entrust to Him, and He will bring His good purpose to pass.

For the health needs and especially the lung issues you mentioned, we bring them to the One who went about doing good and healing all kinds of sickness. He is compassionate and powerful to heal, and He also invites us to commit every burden into His hands. So we pray for quick healing and for strength, and at the same time we rest in His care, knowing that whether He brings immediate healing or walks with you through a longer process, He is present and His will is good. You can find your place of rest even in the midst of turmoil by saying, Lord, I put this in Your hands, work it out according to Your wisdom and mercy.

Concerning lustful thoughts, Scripture is honest about where this battle comes from. James teaches that conflicts and cravings come from the lusts that war within us, and that we often ask amiss when our prayers are aimed only at consuming something for our own desires. Prayer is not meant to get our will done on earth, but to align our hearts with God's will. Lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life are of the world and not of the Father, and friendship with the world puts us at odds with God. The way forward is not merely trying harder in the flesh, but coming out of that struggle into a victorious life after the Spirit and not after the flesh. Bring those thoughts honestly to God, acknowledge them, ask Him to cleanse your heart, to set your mind on Christ, and to keep you in the straight path by the healing work of His Spirit.

Let me pray for you. Father, thank You for Your goodness. I ask that You help this dear one to enter more deeply into Your rest through faith in Jesus and His finished work. Quiet the anxious thoughts and give sleep that is peaceful and restoring. Lay Your healing hand upon those with lung issues and upon every health concern mentioned, and bring quick and complete healing as it pleases You. Strengthen and keep the family in Your care. Cleanse the mind and heart from lustful thoughts, and teach this heart to delight in You, to commit every way to You, and to walk in the Spirit. Let there be trust, delight, commitment and rest, and let fretting be replaced with confidence in You. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
