Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in giving thanks to the Lord for His goodness, for His steadfast love endures forever and every good gift comes from Him. We rejoice with you in your gratitude, for we are called to give thanks in all circumstances, as it is written 1 Thessalonians 5:18 and Psalm 107:1.

We lift up your requests for good rest, for the health of your loved ones, and especially for the one suffering with lung issues. We pray for the Lord's healing hand and for quick recovery according to His will and mercy. We remember that He gives sleep to His beloved as Psalm 127:2 says, and Jesus invites us Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. We also claim His promise that He heals all our diseases Psalm 103:3 and that He will restore health and heal wounds Jeremiah 30:17, and that the prayer of faith will heal the sick James 5:15. We ask the Lord to grant peaceful and restorative sleep, to strengthen each body, to breathe life and healing into those lungs, and to comfort your family with His peace.

We also hear your honest confession about struggling against lustful thoughts, and we want to come alongside you with both grace and truth. The Lord sees this struggle and calls us to purity of heart and mind. Jesus taught that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart Matthew 5:28. We are instructed to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18, and to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5. Lustful thoughts, if entertained, can lead to fornication or adultery which are outside of God's design for marriage between one man and one woman, and they defile the heart. We gently rebuke this pattern not to condemn you, for there is no condemnation for those in Christ, but to call you to repentance and renewal. We encourage you to confess this to God who is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9, to renew your mind Romans 12:2, and to fix your thoughts on whatever things are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and of good report Philippians 4:8. We encourage you to guard your eyes and heart, to avoid sources of temptation, to stay in the Word and in prayer, and to seek accountability with a mature believer if needed.

We also noticed your prayer was addressed to the Lord without mentioning the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name Romans 10:9. It is in His name that our prayers are heard.

We pray together now. Father, we thank You for Your goodness and mercy toward us. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You grant our dear one deep and peaceful rest, that You would watch over them as they sleep Psalm 4:8. We ask for Your healing touch upon each loved one mentioned, especially the one with lung issues, that You would bring quick and complete healing according to Your perfect will, restore breath and strength, and give wisdom to any who provide care. We ask that You cleanse this heart from lustful thoughts, forgive and create a pure heart, and fill the mind with Your truth and Your Spirit, that we may walk in holiness and honor You with our bodies which are temples of the Holy Spirit. Help us to flee temptation and to pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We were encouraged to read your thankfulness right alongside these requests. It means a lot that you brought rest, the health of your loved ones, the lung healing you mentioned, and the struggle with lustful thoughts all to the Lord honestly.

Wanting good rest matters more than we often admit. Poor sleep wears down mood, health and patience, so we are praying God gives you settled nights and real refreshment. And when breathing and lung issues linger, it is wise to stay in touch with your medical provider alongside prayer, so you have support for both body and spirit.

For the unwanted thoughts, many find it helps to have a simple, ready response in the moment, like turning to prayer, stepping away from the trigger and focusing attention elsewhere, and to have one trusted mature believer to be honest with when it feels heavy. Small consistent steps often help more than trying to fight thoughts alone.

Father, we thank You for Your goodness to them. We ask You to grant peaceful rest, to watch over their loved ones, to bring healing and ease of breathing for those with lung issues, and to give strength and a clear mind to walk in purity. Give wisdom for next steps and the comfort of Your presence each day. In Jesus name, amen.

It is a good thing that you begin with thanksgiving for the goodness of the Lord, for every mercy flows from His hand and every breath is His gift. We join you in blessing His name and in bringing your burdens before the throne of grace.

You ask for good rest, and we point you to Him who said, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. There is a present rest, rest now, not only rest after death, but rest given when we come to Jesus, given there and then. And there is a further rest which we find as we learn of Him and take His yoke upon us. True rest to the child of God is not rest with the yoke off, but with the yoke on, rest on the wing, rest in motion, rest in service. Let your mind be made like the mind of Christ, learn of Him who is meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls, a deep rest, a growing rest, an abiding rest. Trust and you shall rest, for even now persons of a certain character enjoy rest, a rest into which believers have entered. If you have laboured long under care or weariness, hear the witness that escape from bondage is possible and rest is to be found even now in Christ.

You ask also for health, for those near to you, and for healing for lung issues and quick healing. We bring these afflicted ones beneath the healing touch of Him who can say, Be thou clean. The Scripture tells us the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation, not only His fruit but His leaves are full of healing virtue. When the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, pardon and healing come together, for when Jesus healed the sick He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee. We pray that the Lord in His mercy would be pleased to restore breath and strength, to ease the lungs and grant quick recovery if it be His will, and to show that His compassion still flows down to men below. He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds, and no disease is too hard for His hand.

You ask also against lustful thoughts, and in this you pray as our Lord taught us, Lead us not into temptation. Temptation in itself is a thing very dangerous, and though God may bring great benefit out of our being tried, it is right for the Christian to pray to be spared from it. The prayer is, O save me from the mischief of the temptation, let me not stain my garments, let me not slip nor slide, but may I stand fast. God will preserve the true believer from the corruption which is in the world through lust, for we are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation. Yet we must not go voluntarily into temptation. The man who prays Lead us not into temptation and then walks into it speaks falsely before God. Therefore watch and pray, turn your eyes from that which would ensnare, set your mind upon Christ your familiar Friend who is alive and near, and seek His grace to keep you.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, we thank Thee for Thy goodness which endureth still. Give to Thy child rest, the rest Thou givest and the rest that is found in learning of Jesus, that in labour and in waiting the soul may be quieted in Thee. Lay Thy healing hand upon those who are sick, especially those who suffer in their lungs, and grant them breath and healing according to Thy perfect will. Forgive sin and heal infirmity, and let Thy leaves bring health to body and soul. And keep Thy servant from temptation, withdraw not Thy grace, but by Thy Spirit guard the heart and mind, that lust may not conceive nor reign, and that being kept from evil the life may be pure and steadfast before Thee. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, and cause us to walk in the way of holiness with joy. Hear us for Jesus sake. Amen.

Thank you for bringing these needs before the Lord with a thankful heart for His goodness. I join you in prayer and thank God with you for His mercy.

I pray that God will grant you good rest. Scripture reminds us that there remains a true rest for the people of God, and that our hope is laid up securely in heaven. Even as we seek daily sleep and renewal for our bodies, may the Lord keep your heart set on that greater rest and give you peace and refreshment each night, guarding you from troubled thoughts and unbelief.

I lift up to the Lord the health needs you mentioned and especially the lung issues and the desire for quick healing. We ask our faithful Father to lay His healing hand upon those who are ill, to strengthen their bodies, to ease their breathing, and to grant wisdom to those caring for them. May He bring restoration according to His will and comfort them in their affliction.

For the struggle against lustful thoughts, be encouraged that God is faithful. He knows our temptations and does not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear, but with the temptation He will also make the way of escape so that we may be able to endure it. Lust and other desires of this world belong to the deceitfulness that chokes the soul, but the Lord gives strength to turn away, to set the mind on things above, and to walk in purity. Pray for that way of escape to be clear to you, for patience to endure, and for a heart that seeks holiness rather than fleeting pleasure.

Let us pray together. Father, we thank You for Your goodness. Grant rest to Your servant, heal those who suffer in body and especially those with lung affliction, and bring quick recovery if it is Your will. Guard the mind and heart from lustful thoughts and give victory through Your Spirit. Lead us away from the cares of this world and keep us faithful until we enter Your perfect rest. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our salvation. Amen.

Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly and for giving thanks for God's goodness even as you bring these needs to Him. It is right to come to the Lord with everything, both gratitude and requests, and He hears you.

I join you in praying for good rest. Sleep is a gift from God. He gives rest to His people and makes it possible to lie down in safety and to be refreshed. That kind of rest restores the body and quiets the mind, and it is very different from laziness or giving way to sloth. I pray the Lord will grant you deep, peaceful sleep that restores you and helps you walk faithfully with Him in the day.

I also pray with you for health, and for healing for those lungs that are struggling. Jesus showed such compassion when He healed those who were suffering, and He is still the Lord who heals. We do not earn healing and we cannot command it, but we can bring every sickness to Him with confidence in His power and His love, asking Him to touch the body, to bring quick recovery according to His wisdom, and to give strength and comfort while you wait upon Him. The testing of our faith can teach us patience as we learn to wait for His timing and trust His care.

For the struggle with lustful thoughts, please be encouraged that temptation itself is not sin. Every person faces temptation, and even Jesus was tempted, yet without sin. God does not entice us to evil. Temptation comes when we are drawn away by our own desires and enticed, often with the promise that we can have immediate fulfillment if we step outside God's path. The sin comes when desire is allowed to conceive and we yield to it, and Scripture warns that sin when it is finished brings death. That is why it must be dealt with in the heart at the very beginning.

There is a choice in every temptation whether to walk according to the flesh or according to the Spirit. The way to victory is not to feed the desire but to starve it. What you feed will grow and what you starve will weaken. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life belong to this world which is passing away, and they are not from the Father. God has given us His Word as our defense. When Jesus was tempted He answered with Scripture, saying it is written. Hiding God's Word in your heart is powerful against temptation and against sinning against God. When a thought arises, turn immediately to the Lord, confess it honestly, replace it with truth from Scripture, and walk in the Spirit.

You are not alone in this. Temptation is common to all, and God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to bear, and He provides the way of escape so you can endure it. Bring these battles into the light, keep your heart full of the Word, keep your mind set on what is pure and holy, and ask the Lord to fill you with His Spirit day by day.

Let us pray together. Father, we thank You for Your goodness and Your mercy. We ask You to grant good and peaceful rest, to restore the body and mind. We lift up every health need mentioned, especially the lungs that need healing, and ask for Your healing hand, for quick recovery, and for Your comfort and strength. And we ask for victory over lustful thoughts. Cleanse the heart, renew the mind by Your Word, and teach us to walk by the Spirit and not fulfill the desires of the flesh. Keep us from yielding to temptation and lead us in purity and faithfulness to You. We trust You and ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
