We join you in thanking the Lord for His goodness, for He is good and His loving kindness endures forever. We lift up your requests together before the Father in Jesus' name.
We pray for good rest for you, that the Lord would grant you peaceful sleep and renewal. It is written, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest, Matthew 11:28, and also, I will both lay myself down and sleep in peace, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety, Psalm 4:8. We ask that He would quiet your mind and body and let you wake refreshed for His purposes.
We also bring before the Lord the health needs you mentioned, your loved ones and the one suffering with lung issues. We pray for healing and quick recovery according to His will and mercy. We remember that He forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases, Psalm 103:3, and that He has promised, I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 30:17. We ask for the Lord's healing hand upon those lungs, for clear breathing, strength, and for wisdom for any who are providing care.
We also want to address with love and truth your request for help against lustful thoughts. We know this is a battle many face, and we commend you for bringing it into the light and seeking prayer. Scripture is clear that lustful thoughts are not harmless, for Jesus said, everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart, Matthew 5:28. We are called to flee sexual immorality, 1 Corinthians 6:18, and to flee youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, 2 Timothy 2:22. God has provided sexual intimacy as a good gift to be enjoyed only within the lifelong marriage covenant between a man and a woman, and outside of that, lust and fornication are sin that damages our fellowship with God and with others. We encourage you to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:5, and to fix your mind on whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely and of good report, Philippians 4:8. When temptation comes, remember that God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it, 1 Corinthians 10:13. We pray that the Lord would create in you a clean heart and renew a right spirit within you, Psalm 51:10, and fill your mind with His Word and His Spirit so that purity grows.
We noticed you prayed to the Lord but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is because Jesus died for our sins and rose again that we can come boldly to God in prayer and receive forgiveness for all sin, including lust, when we confess and repent and put our faith in Him.
We pray together now. Father, we thank You for Your goodness and mercy toward us. We thank You for Your care for our bodies and souls. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You would grant good and peaceful rest, that You would touch our loved ones with Your healing power, especially the one with lung issues, and bring quick and complete healing as You will. Forgive us for lustful thoughts and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Help us to flee from temptation, to turn our eyes from worthless things, and to walk in purity and holiness before You. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit and Your Word, that our minds may be renewed. We trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ alone for our salvation and access to Your throne. Lead us to pursue relationships and marriage according to Your design, in holiness and honor. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.
