I hear how heavy this feels right now, the anxiety about pain, the worry about medicine, the hunger for yourself and your family, and the sadness that comes when you are not sure if even a simple sandwich will be possible today. God sees all of that, and He does not turn away from you in it.
Scripture shows that God knows what it is to watch His people hurt. When Jerusalem suffered judgment and hunger, the prophet wept and reflected the very heart of God, a Father whose heart breaks even when pain must be endured for a time. That pain was never a sign that love had stopped. In fact, a loving father will sometimes allow what is painful because he cares about what is lasting and good. Much of the pain and hunger in this world, though, comes simply because we live in a fallen world that sin has broken, from the first sin that brought travail and labor and groaning into human life. God grieves that brokenness with you.
You mentioned your period and the fear of pain and needing medicine. In the old law a woman during her monthly period was considered ceremonially set apart and could not enter the place of worship, and Jerusalem in its desolation was compared to that. But that picture was about ceremonial separation under that law, not about your worth before God now. Through Jesus you are not set aside, unclean, or pushed away from Him. He welcomes your prayer and your nearness at all times.
The Bible also does not hide real hunger. It describes people who traded their most pleasant and treasured things just for food to keep alive, mothers with nothing to give their nursing children, families who sold heirlooms to relieve their souls. God noticed and recorded those sorrows because He cares. Jesus Himself grew up in a poor home and knows from human experience what it is to face daily need and to wonder how bills and food will be provided. He understands poverty and pain from the inside.
When we see ourselves and our need honestly before the Lord, it brings a kind of poverty of spirit, not pride but humility, a mourning over our weakness and our need. Jesus said blessed are the poor in spirit, and blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. That promise is first about a spiritual hunger, a longing to be right with God and to be made like Christ, and God faithfully fills that hunger when we bring it to Him. He also cares about your physical hunger and thirst. The same Lord who promises to fill the heart also invites you to bring your bodily needs to Him and to trust Him as your provider.
It is natural to wonder, if God loves me why am I suffering like this. Suffering can make us question His love, but His love has not failed. His ways are meant to protect and to heal, not to destroy, and His ultimate promise is a future where there will be no more tears, no more death, no more sorrow and no more pain, because the former things that sin brought will have passed away. Until then He walks with you in the pain that remains.
I am praying for you now, that the Lord will provide a way for the medicine you need, ease your anxiety about pain, and supply food for you and your family, even the simple sandwich you long for. I pray He will comfort your sadness, quiet your anxious thoughts, and remind you today that you are seen, loved, and not forgotten. If you can, please reach out to someone near you you trust, a family member, neighbor, or local church family, and let them know about your practical needs as well, so God can provide through caring hands around you. Keep bringing every worry to Him, He hears and He cares.
