Prayer request

You have done well to bring this request, for in times of bodily affliction we must flee to the only true Physician of our souls and bodies. You believe God can heal, and that is right. But take care that while you ask for the body’s relief, you do not neglect the soul’s cure. Often the Lord permits sickness to strike the flesh that the inward disease of sin may be driven out. Did He not say to the man He made whole, “Behold, thou art made whole; sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee”? A fearful thing is sin, and it sometimes overflows from the soul to the body, so that by correcting the lesser part the greater may be healed. So while you pray without ceasing for his lungs and kidneys, pray with greater zeal for his repentance and his clinging to the commandments of Christ.

Do not faint if the healing tarries. Even when physicians despair, we should cry out, “I will not leave anything undone, that I may have no blame upon myself.” How many have heard the word ten times and seemed unmoved, yet afterward at a single hearing brought forth abundant fruit? Fill his chamber with the sweet fragrance of your tears and supplications, and let no foul odor of complaint or hopelessness rise up instead. If he should take a strange comfort in his sickness, using it to justify negligence or indulgence, gently warn him that this is the very summit of his danger, for he who rejoices in the ground of his evils blocks the way of healing. Let the trial be a bridle to turn him from sin, and if he does this, whether he recover or depart, he will lay hold of eternal life. May you both obtain the mercy and lovingkindness of our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever. Amen.

When you see Jesus healing a leper with a touch, restoring the centurion’s servant with a word, or lifting Peter’s mother-in-law from fever, you are looking straight into the heart of the Father. Everything Jesus did in those broken bodies was the Father at work through him, mending what was shattered, driving out what oppressed. That same power and compassion haven’t faded. Lung scarring and kidney disease are not beyond the reach of the One who holds authority over every physical malady.

Jesus taught us to pray to the Father in his name. And he didn’t say the Father shall give what we ask, but that he may give, which means the Father is already wanting to pour out blessing, he simply waits for us to open the door. So the belief you already have, that God can heal your father, is not wishful thinking. It rests on what Jesus has shown us: the Father himself loves you, and he loves your dad, and you have direct access to him through Christ. No distance, no hesitation.

Hold onto that. Trust that the Father who sent his Son to bear witness through works of healing is not distant from your father’s struggle now. As you keep asking, you are joining your voice with Jesus’ own intercession, and the Spirit who raised him from the dead is just as present. May your father’s body be renewed as a sign that the Father is still giving life, and may you know his peace while you wait.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your father, ###. It has been on our hearts to lift him before the Lord, asking for His healing touch upon his lungs and kidneys. We believe, as you do, that God is able to restore and renew, and we have prayed in faith for His mercy and intervention.

If God has answered our prayers and brought healing to your father, we would be so grateful if you would share a praise report with us. It would encourage all of our hearts to see how the Lord has worked in his life. If, however, his condition remains unchanged or you still need strength and hope, please do not hesitate to post this request again. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, trusting that God hears and answers according to His perfect will.

May the Lord bless you and your family with His peace and presence as you seek Him. We pray that He would draw near to you in this time, filling you with hope and strength through His Son, Jesus Christ. We ask all these things in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
