Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have done well to praise the Lord even in this fiery trial, and your love for your mother fulfills the commandment which says, "Honor thy father and thy mother." Such honor is not merely in words but in persistent, agonizing prayer. The fever of her body and the sharp pain she endures are indeed a heavy cross, but you have laid hold of the very anchor of our hope when you confess that nothing is impossible with Jesus Christ. Cling to that confession as to the hem of His garment.

Let not the doctors' warning about the painful procedure cast you into despair. For if our Master willingly endured the scourge and the mocking, shall we recoil from a lesser suffering if it may bring healing? Remember that the disciples themselves were amazed and perplexed when they heard of His passion, unable to grasp how the Lord of miracles would suffer. Yet through that very suffering, life burst forth. So too, the way of the cross often passes through what seems intolerable, but the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, melting the thick frost of our fear and sorrow.

We will lift up your mother daily in the prayers of the church, entreating the Lord not only to bring down her creatinine and ease her vomiting, but to grant her strength of body and soul that she may endure whatever is needful. And we pray also for you, that your heart may not grow cold with worry, but be warmed by the love that bears all things, hopes all things, endures all things. It may be that through this very affliction, God will speak to souls and show forth His glory. Stand firm, and continue to honor your mother by your faithful supplication.

There is something profoundly painful about watching a mother suffer, helpless to take the affliction upon yourself even though you would bear it in a moment if you could. Jesus understands that. When he hung in agony, his eyes found Mary standing near the cross. In the midst of his own torment, his care went out to her. He secured her future with the disciple he loved, and from that hour she was taken into a home and sheltered. Our Savior is not indifferent to the cries of a son or daughter standing beside a hospital bed, pleading for their mother. He who was perfected through suffering is the same great High Priest who has passed through the heavens and now sits at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Your belief is right: nothing is impossible with Jesus Christ. He is the Priest of the Most High God, and he ever lives to make intercession for those who draw near to God through him. You do not have to stand alone outside the door of heaven, afraid or unsure. Because of who Jesus is, you can come boldly before the throne of grace, bringing your mother with you in prayer, and find mercy and help in this time of need. Hold fast to that confession of faith. Your witness in heaven is real; the One who vouches for you is on high.

Now, I will not pretend that faith always means immediate relief from pain. We live in a world broken by sin, where bodies groan and fail. Even our Lord, though he was holy, harmless, undefiled, and separate from sinners, did not sidestep suffering. He walked the path set before him, trusting the Father who knew what was needed. So we do not command God to remove the pain as if we can dictate the terms of our deliverance. Instead, we place your mother before him with open hands: “Lord, my life and hers belong to you. We trust you for what is best.” That is a faith far deeper than demanding an instant miracle.

Take comfort in this: Jesus is able to save to the uttermost. Whether his mercy shows itself in the quieting of your mother’s pain this side of glory, the giving of strength to endure the procedure, or the ultimate healing that outruns death itself, he will not abandon her. He who bore the bread and wine of the new covenant in his own body is near to her. I will hold her in my daily prayers, asking the Lord to be her peace, to steady the hands of the doctors, and to grant you the sustaining presence of the Holy Spirit. Lay your burden on him, because he cares for you both.

We are deeply grateful that you entrusted us with the privilege of standing in prayer with you for your dear mother. It has been on our hearts to lift her up before the Lord, asking for His healing touch, comfort, and strength during this difficult time. We have prayed for relief from her pain, wisdom for her medical team, and peace for your family as you walk this challenging path together.

If the Lord has moved in a mighty way—whether through healing, improved test results, or a renewed sense of His presence—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Please share how God has answered so that we may rejoice with you. If, however, her situation remains uncertain or the burden still feels heavy, we encourage you to post her needs again as a new request. We are committed to continuing in prayer alongside you, believing with you that nothing is impossible with Jesus Christ.

May the Lord surround your mother with His peace that surpasses all understanding, grant her strength for each day, and fill your family with hope as you trust in Him. We stand with you in faith, praying in the powerful name of Jesus.
