Prayer request
We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for God’s goodness, even as we lift up this request in unity. Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness and the many ways You provide for Your children. We acknowledge that every good and perfect gift comes from You, and we trust in Your provision, peace, and rest.
Heavenly Father, we pray for deep, restorative rest for this dear one. In a world that often pulls us in countless directions, we ask that You quiet their mind, body, and spirit. Remind them of Your promise in Psalm 127:2, "For he gives sleep to his loved ones." May they find true rest in You, knowing that You neither slumber nor sleep, and that You are their ultimate protector and provider.
We also lift up their family, asking for Your peace to reign in their home. Lord, where there is tension, bring reconciliation; where there is worry, bring trust; and where there is strife, bring unity. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May their family be a testimony of Your love and grace, reflecting Your light to those around them.
Father, we bring the "tree situation" before You, asking for Your favor and wisdom. Whether this involves a literal tree, a decision, or a circumstance that feels overwhelming, we trust that You are in control. It is well that you have turned your heart in prayer, for every good gift and every perfect gift comes from above. You ask for good rest, peace for your family, favor in the tree situation, and financial blessing. Yet there is a rest more needful than sleep for the body, even the rest of the soul in Jesus Christ. He saith, "Come unto me, and I will give you rest." That rest is a present gift, given at once to all who come to Him by faith. It is not partial, but perfect and complete in His blood and righteousness, peace with God which passeth all understanding. Seek first this rest, and all other matters shall be ordered aright.
You desire peace for your family. True peace is found only where the Lord blesses His people with peace, and the family circle is never more secure than when each heart rests in Him. The meek shall inherit the earth and delight themselves in the abundance of peace. As for the tree situation and financial blessing, these outward cares must be cast upon Him who careth for you. Is anything too hard for the Lord? He who clothes the lilies and feeds the sparrows can certainly manage the tangled branches of a tree and supply your every need. But remember, the rest He gives is not dependent on circumstances. To do the will of Jesus, this is rest. Submit these matters to His wisdom, and then trust. Trusting brings rest. Even when sorrows surge, on Jesus’ bosom nothing but calm is found.
If you have already come to Christ, then enter into the rest that remains. Do not be content with a partial peace. Our Lord’s rest is glorious, the fruit of His finished work. You may say, “But I am poor and troubled.” That is just the time to prove the promise, “I will give you rest.” Let not the devil whisper that you have no right to be quiet. Your right is the blood and righteousness of Christ. Return unto your rest, O my soul, for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee. So pray on, but mingle your petitions with simple faith, and you shall find that He is already answering by breathing peace into your heart.

What you ask touches upon the very malady I so often lament. You seek rest for the flesh, peace for your household in its earthly circumstances, favor in a matter of trees, and a financial blessing. You give thanks for His goodness, yet the things you name are of a carnal commandment, the very shadows from which the Apostle labors to free us. Is this the spiritual blessing with which God has blessed us in the heavenly places? There is nothing carnal here. The former blessings were long life for the flesh, milk and honey for the flesh, peace for the flesh, luxury for the flesh. But Christ leads us on to true goods, saying, In the world ye have tribulation. What is this peace you seek for your family? Is it a mere earthly quiet, a freedom from conflict over property or money? The peace of Christ is not of this sort. For concord is not in every case a good thing, since even robbers agree together. The peace He gives is when the diseased is cut off, when the mutinous is removed. Be at peace with all men, and consider with what character God saves you. The more your brother wars against you, by so much the greater will be your reward. Nothing so much delights God as to remember no evil.
And why do you cling to the hope of a financial blessing? Look to Jacob. He obtained the blessing, and yet did not receive it in his earthly life. He spent all his time in servitude and working as a hireling, amid dangers, plots, deceits, and fears, while his brother lived in independence and great security. Where then did the blessings come to their accomplishment, save in the world to come? God has called you to be a saint, and in the greater things all is made common. This frees you from the love of money, for you learn that you have no advantage from a financial blessing unless the goods of faith have the first place. You are made an heir, you reign with Christ; how shall He not also with Him freely give you all things? But if your mind, your hope, your expectation is set on a tree situation and your rest in this life, I fear for you. Let us labor to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. For that we shall fail, the example of those who longed for carnal ease shows. Seek the peace that is the mother of all good things. This peace prepares the way for love; this is the foundation of joy. For where peace is wanting, everything is useless. The peacemakers are called the sons of God, with reason, because the Son of God came to set at peace the things in the earth and those in the heavens. Therefore we pray everywhere for peace, not the peace of a successful transaction, but that peace which is the symbol of the good things to come.

Many have peace with God through salvation, but they have not yet entered into the peace of God. That peace comes when you fix your mind on Him rather than on your circumstances. When you rest your case fully in His hands and simply look to Him, He keeps you in perfect peace, a peace that passes all understanding. It is not a false peace that ignores reality; it is the quiet confidence that your life is governed by a faithful Father, and He is able to do what you cannot do for yourself.
This rest is not something you earn by your own skill or effort. You cannot find it in having all your problems solved first. Faith is the only place you will ever truly rest. Labor, then, to enter into that rest by total abandonment to God, saying, “Lord, it is in Your hands.” He has ordained peace for you, and He wants you to live in it, not in the turmoil of trying to figure everything out or help God along impatiently.

Think of how the blessing of Abraham was passed on according to God’s purposes, not according to the short-sighted cravings of the flesh. The blessings that matter most often look like new olive shoots around your table, children, grandchildren, a heritage in the Lord. Whether that tree in your life represents your family, your provision, or something else, remember that the strength and future God gives often grow up right where you are, as you walk in the fear of the Lord. He shall bless you out of Zion; you will eat the labor of your hands and see it flow down through the generations.
Financial blessing is not wrong to ask for, but the true measure of blessing is not a number. The one who has entered God’s rest has ceased from his own works, trusting the Father to supply every need. Your part is consecration, laying your life on the altar as a living sacrifice, and communion, desiring fellowship with Him above all. When you follow this rule of trust in His finished work, the result is peace and mercy.
Fix your eyes on Jesus, the precious cornerstone. As you keep your mind stayed on Him, you will find that His peace settles over your family and your circumstances, even before you see the outward answers. He is at work, and He is faithful.
