Prayer Request Dear Church Family, I humbly ask for your prayers for my family and loved ones as we trust God to guide us through several important situations. Please pray for my niece, ###, that God will grant her favor with her nursing school. We ask that the dean will show grace and mercy, allow her to pass her class, and approve her to continue into the next semester. May God strengthen her, give her wisdom, and help her fulfill her dream of becoming a nurse. Please also pray for my sister, ###, that God will bless her with a good-paying job, provide financial stability, and grant her wisdom, peace, confidence, and success as she prepares for her NCLEX nursing licensure exam. We pray that she passes her exam and becomes the wonderful nurse God has called her to be. Please keep my dear friend ### in prayer as she continues to grieve the loss of her mother. May the Lord comfort her heart, give her strength for each new day, surround her with His love, and fill her with His peace. Please pray for my friend ###, asking God to touch her eyes with His healing hand, restore her health completely, and give her strength and encouragement through every challenge she faces. May Your love surround her like a comforting embrace, and may Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We also want to gently remind you of the power and necessity of praying in the name of Jesus. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" (John 14:6) We encourage you to always lift up these prayers in the name of Jesus, for His name is above every name, and at the name of Jesus, every knee will bow.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of coming before You on behalf of these precious lives. We trust in Your goodness, Your mercy, and Your perfect will. May each of these situations bring glory to Your name, and may Your people be drawn closer to You through every trial and triumph. Letting herself grieve the loss, and eventually working toward a place of forgiveness (even just for her own freedom), can make a huge difference. If she’s open to it, many churches offer divorce recovery groups or faith-based counselors who walk people through that process gently. Having a safe, understanding space to sort through the emotions can be a lifeline during the quiet days. Please pass along our care to her, she’s not alone.

It is a mercy that you have brought these petitions before the Lord, for the soul that casts its cares upon Him has already known something of Divine grace. We will join our prayers with yours, trusting in the God who guides His people through every flood and fire.

Your niece, as she seeks favour in her nursing school, must look to the Lord for true wisdom. The young are often prone to haste and self-reliance, but when the Spirit works in the heart, we learn to bow with submission to the Divine will. Pray that she avoids everything that is evil and clings to those great principles which God infuses into every soul that takes Him for its Guide. The dean’s heart is in the Lord’s hand; He can turn it as He pleases. There is a Divine sovereignty in all these things, and we must admire it, sometimes He grants the desire, sometimes He overrules for a better purpose, but always He does what is best.

Your sister stands at a threshold, and her need for a good position and a clear mind for the NCLEX exam is not beyond the reach of the Almighty. The world craves stability, but perfect stability belongs to God alone; therefore let her lean wholly upon Him. He who calmed the tempest can calm an anxious heart. Divine interpositions, though not always miraculous in the outward sense, are full of wonder for all that. How often has the Lord delivered His people from the pit of despond, set their feet on a rock, and established their goings! We will ask that He grant her success, yet more than that, that she sense His presence, which dissolves difficulties like glaciers in the summer sun.

Your friend who mourns her mother is held in the tender arms of Divine gentleness. The Lord often trains His children as the eagle trains its young, by stirring up the nest, by breaking away earthly comforts so that we might learn to fly upon the wings of faith. It is a painful process, but if she could read the whole of it in the light of eternity, she would bless the hand that tore away that comfort. He binds up the broken-hearted; His gentleness makes us great. We will pray that she feels the nearness of Christ, who wept at the tomb of Lazarus, and that she finds the secret of the tabernacle, that Most Holy Place where no stranger enters but where the sorrowing saint meets her Lord.

For your friend with the affliction in her eyes, we will cry to the Great Physician. Our Lord’s touch restored sight to the blind, and though He may choose to heal through medicine or slow processes, His power is undiminished. He can interpose swiftly, or He can give strength to bear the trial until the light dawns. Let her trust in Him, for the Lord’s hand is not shortened; He hears the faintest whisper of faith.

Your sister walking through the desert of divorce is especially on our hearts. A true marriage, cemented by mutual love and Divine choice, is a sacred thing, and when that bond is torn, the pain reaches into the soul. Yet the Lord is a Husband to the widow and to the abandoned; He will not leave her comfortless. We pray for wisdom, that steady, acquiescent spirit which refuses to run ahead of God or to sink into bitterness. Let her know that in Christ she has a union that nothing can dissolve, and the Holy Spirit will be her Counselor in every practical step. The world may despise instability, but the Lord will give her a firm spirit in the day of shaking.

Your own household and your husband share a noble ambition, to own a home and walk in financial peace. The Lord Jesus, though He had nowhere to lay His head, delights to give His children daily bread and a safe dwelling. Divine surprises often mark the path of believers: doors open where we saw only walls, provision comes when the brook is dry. Seek first the kingdom, and all these things shall be added. Wait upon the Lord in prayer, for the Divine Presence is the one hope of His people. He will guide you, not only in the large affairs, but in the smallest details, for a godly home is a place where His honour dwells.

In all these trials, remember the sure result: “You shall afterward receive me to Glory.” This life is a pilgrimage, and the way is rough, but the end is certain for those who are in Christ. Divine love can rake a dunghill and find a diamond; it picks up sinners from the miry clay and sets them among princes. Plead the blood of Jesus over every need, and rest in His great faithfulness.

You bring many names and needs before the Lord, and it is right to pour out your heart to Him who hears. Yet in every petition we must seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added according to His perfect will, not always our passing wishes. Let us then consider what is truly needful for each soul, testing every request against the unshakable words of Scripture.

Your niece and sister who pursue nursing must not put their trust in the favor of a dean or in their own diligence alone. The knowledge of books is good, but the knowledge of the holy Scriptures is the cause of all virtue, and without it we go into battle unarmed. Let them study hard, as the merchant labors and plans, yet let them not be forever learning and never able to come to the truth. Pray that they pass their exams only if such a calling serves their growth in godliness. If this work be of God, no human obstacle can overthrow it, but if it is a mere human ambition, it will come to nothing in the end. A nurse who fears the Lord is a treasure, but a diploma without wisdom profits nothing when we stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

Your grieving friend who has lost her mother must not sorrow as those without hope. The dead in Christ shall rise, and this life is but a fleeting dream. Let her find comfort in the church and in the sacraments, for there the medicine of immortality is offered. The Lord who suffered and died for us is close to the brokenhearted. Urge her to cling not to the memory alone but to the promise of the resurrection, and let her good works of charity be a shining lamp in this dark hour.

For your friend with troubled eyes, yes, ask for healing. It is permitted to make provision for the body’s health, as Paul told Timothy to use a little wine for his stomach. But do not fix all your hope on earthly healing. Even more, pray that the eyes of her heart be enlightened to see the beauty of holiness, for bodily health may fade, but the soul that is made whole lives forever.

Now, for your sister who walks through a divorce, we must speak with great care, for marriage is a bond ordained by God, not a human contract to dissolve at will. The Scripture says, "Follow peace with all men, and holiness." Holiness in marriage means living purely, not separating what God has joined. I know well the sorrow and fear that such a trial brings, but we dare not ask God to bless the breaking of a covenant He made lifelong. Pray rather that she seek wisdom from above, that if reconciliation be possible she may pursue it with all humility and patience, trusting that God can restore even the driest bones. If she is sinned against, let her remember that Christ endured betrayal and forgave. If she must live apart for a season, let her not seek another union, but remain chaste and occupied in good works, for a widow indeed is she who trusts in God and continues in supplications. Let her not make provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts, but use this trial to draw nearer to the Lord. Do not encourage her to seek what seems easy, but what is pleasing to God. If this suffering is of His hand, no one can overthrow His purpose, and He will give strength to bear it.

For yourself and your husband, you desire a home and financial stability. These are not evil in themselves, but beware lest your prayers slide into making provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts. Is the home you long for a simple shelter for hospitality and good works, or is it a vessel of luxury and soft living? The merchant works hard and plans wisely, yet he knows that riches take wings and fly away. This life is a sleep, and all its comforts are dreams that dissolve at daybreak. Labor honestly, save diligently, but let your heart be set on the heavenly city whose builder is God. Pray for a roof that meets your true needs, not your wants, so that you may have leisure to serve the saints and attend upon the Lord without distraction. Let your marriage be a sweet ointment of chastity and mutual love, a living picture of Christ and the Church, not corrupted by the world’s foul stench of greed and ambition.

Above all, do not neglect what is most needful: to know the Scriptures, to frequent the holy mysteries, and to walk in peace with all men. Throw not the whole burden upon the priests, for you are rational sheep who must learn and then teach others. If you are ever learning but never doing, you have learned nothing. Let this be the aim of all your prayers: that each person you name may grow in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that in all things His will be done, not ours. To Him be glory forever.

Your prayer request overflows with faith in God’s willingness and ability to meet every need you’ve named. That kind of trust is precious because it opens the door for him to work.

One thing that has always anchored my own hope is seeing how, even under the Old Testament law, God deliberately left room for his grace to break in. Take the law for the leper: a condition no one could cure, yet God gave instructions for “the day of his cleansing.” He built a provision right into the system so that if he chose to heal, there would be a way to receive it. He was not boxed in by what seemed incurable. That same God hears you now. Your niece’s standing with her dean, your sister’s exam and job search, your friend’s grief and another’s physical eyes, your sister walking through a divorce, and your own longing for a home and financial stability, none of it lies beyond the reach of the God who heals the incurable.

Because of that, refuse to shrink your expectations. Let him be the God who makes a way where there is no visible way. Ask boldly, then watch for his moving. That doesn’t mean we dictate the timetable, but it does mean we live like the One who gave his own Son for our deepest need will not hold back any good thing from those who walk uprightly. The only provision he has made for our sins is Jesus Christ, and if he secured that at such cost, he will certainly supply what is needed in these earthly trials. So keep coming to him with the same confidence you expressed, knowing that you are not bringing these burdens to a distant ruler but to a Father who loves to provide.

Let me join my faith with yours: Father, you are the God who made allowance for your own power to break in. We ask for your favor to surround this niece in her nursing program, moving the dean to show mercy and clear the way for her to continue. Grant her wisdom and strength. For her sister, open a good job, steady her mind for the NCLEX, and let her walk confidently into the calling you’ve given her. Comfort the grieving friend with the nearness that only you can give. Touch the eyes of the one needing healing, restore her health, and uphold her spirit. Cover the sister enduring divorce with your peace, protection, and clear guidance.
