Prayer request

The enemy delights in making you feel that a door has been slammed shut forever, that progress and success are now out of reach because someone or something has moved against you. But our hope rests in the one who holds the key of David. He is the one who opens and no man can shut, and who shuts and no man can open. When Christ Himself sets an open door before you, no hostile power in heaven or on earth can close it. Your part is to look to Him, not to the obstacle.

Scripture shows us that the enemy often attacks with discouragement and intimidation, especially when we begin building something according to God’s will. Nehemiah faced open letters full of lies and accusations meant to stop the work, but he refused to come down from the wall. The forces arrayed against him looked insurmountable, yet the reality in the spiritual realm was that God was fighting for him. Sometimes we need our eyes opened to see that those who are for us are more than those who are against us. The enemy keeps a whole bag of tricks, ridicule, fear, insinuation, but his goal is simply to stop you from walking through the door God has opened.

Be careful not to force a door God has shut, and equally careful not to leave a door open to the enemy through compromise. The story of Samson reminds us how leaving a door ajar to what weakens you will eventually pin you down. If the door seems open now because the Lord has set it before you, then walk toward it until He redirects you. He leads by opening doors of opportunity and closing others, and His ear is always open to your cry. He is the Door, the only way into the sheepfold, the only access to the Father.

Remember that the Lord Himself stands at the door of your heart and knocks. The handle is on your side. If you will open to Him, He will come in and commune with you, giving you the strength and direction you need. The door is never closed to the one who calls on Him. Let your heart be open to His guidance, and trust that the door He opens for your life will lead you into the purpose He has prepared. The Lord bless and keep you.
