Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for a very lonely young person who is going through a difficult, isolating time. Ask the Lord to show her that life is worth living, to comfort her in her loneliness, and to bring faithful friends into her life who will help her love for God grow. Thank you.

We lift up this precious young soul before the throne of grace, grieving with her in her loneliness and asking the Lord to draw near to her as only He can. The Word tells us, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). Father, we ask You to wrap Your arms around her in this isolating season, reminding her that she is never truly alone, You are with her, and You see her pain. Let her feel Your presence in tangible ways, whether through the kindness of a stranger, the beauty of creation, or the still, small voice whispering hope to her heart.

Lord, we pray against the lies of the enemy that seek to convince her that life is not worth living. Satan is a thief who comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that she might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Replace despair with hope, emptiness with purpose, and isolation with the knowledge that she is deeply loved by You. Remind her that her life has value because she was fearfully and wonderfully made in Your image (Psalm 139:14), and that You have plans for her, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give her a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

We also ask You to bring godly, faithful friends into her life, friends who will sharpen her in the faith, encourage her in righteousness, and walk with her through both trials and triumphs. "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another" (Proverbs 27:17). Surround her with believers who will point her to Christ, pray with her, and remind her of Your promises when she forgets. Let her experience the joy of Christian fellowship, where burdens are shared and love is poured out without condition.

If this young woman does not yet know You as her Savior, we pray that this season of loneliness would drive her to seek You. There is no greater comfort, no deeper love, and no lasting hope outside of a relationship with Jesus Christ. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). If she has wandered from You, draw her back with cords of kindness and bands of love (Hosea 11:4). If she has never surrendered her life to You, open her eyes to see her need for a Savior and soften her heart to receive the gift of salvation.

We rebuke the spirit of loneliness and despair in the name of Jesus, declaring that it has no hold on her. We speak life, joy, and purpose over her, trusting that You will fulfill Your good work in her (Philippians 1:6). May she come to know the truth of Your Word: "I will never leave you, nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). And may she find in You the Friend who sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24).

Heavenly Father, we entrust this dear one into Your care, asking that You would move mightily in her life. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let her experience the fullness of Your love in ways that transform her heart forever. In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.

Before anything else, we want to say plainly: if this young woman is in immediate danger, please urge her to contact local emergency services right now. For free, confidential support at any time, trained counselors are available through a helpline in your country (find the right number at findahelpline.com). She does not have to face these thoughts alone, help is waiting right now.

It sounds like she is in a place where each day feels heavy, and the silence around her only deepens the ache. When loneliness presses in that hard, the idea that life is worth living can seem far away, or even unreal. We hurt with her in that kind of pain, and we are grateful you are standing with her in prayer.

When hope feels thin, it is often because we have lost sight of where we are heading. Hope anchors the heart to a future that God has actually promised, not a vague wish that things might improve, but a steady confidence that He is with us and is working even when we cannot see it. Please remind her that her life matters simply because she is known and loved by God, regardless of how she feels right now. That truth does not erase the pain, but it can be a small, firm place to set her foot when everything else feels like sinking sand.

One concrete step that can help loosen loneliness’s grip is connection with a real, flesh-and-blood community. Is there a small group, a Bible study, or a caring older woman in your church who could reach out to her gently? Sometimes what a lonely person needs most is not a big program but one faithful friend who will simply show up, share a meal, take a walk, listen without trying to fix everything. If you can help make that introduction, it could be a lifeline.

Let’s pray for her now:

Father, hold this young woman close. In her loneliness, be the presence that never leaves her. Quiet the lie that her life has no purpose or future. Send one or two trustworthy friends who will see her, draw her out, and walk with her toward you. Give her just enough strength to take one small step toward hope today. In Jesus’ name we ask this.

It is a sore trial to be alone in the world, feeling no friendly hand in yours and hearing no voice of true sympathy. I know that ache, that hollow emptiness which presses upon the soul in solitary hours, and my heart goes out to you in your present distress. Yet I would have you remember that you are not so isolated as you think, for there is One who has trodden this path before you. Think of your Master in Gethsemane and before the Sanhedrin, left alone, since it is written, "Then all the disciples forsook him and fled." He knows the full weight of human loneliness, and He is touched with the feeling of your infirmities. He who was made a curse for us tasted the bitter gall of being utterly forsaken, and now, risen and glorified, He is able to succor you in this season of trial. Do not imagine that He has forgotten you; rather, in this very hour He draws near, waiting to reveal Himself as your nearest and dearest friend.

I perceive you are tempted to say, "There is no hope," and that weariness has crept over your spirit, whispering that life is too heavy to be borne. But look away from yourself and from the shifting sands of earthly companionship. In yourself there may be no hope, but in Christ there is a full and glorious hope. He has provided a door of hope in the very valley of your trouble. Your present loneliness, dark as it seems, may become that door. It often pleases Him to afflict us so that we might learn where true satisfaction lies. You are a prisoner, but not without hope; therefore turn to the stronghold of His faithful promises. Christ himself is your hope, the hope of glory. And if you have not yet fled to Him, I say to you this moment, faith in Jesus Christ is the sure character-insurance you need. Hope in Him, and you shall never be confounded.

Cultivate, I beseech you, the friendship of Christ above all. Who can prove his friendship as Jesus proved it by laying down His life for those He calls His friends? He desires a reciprocal friendship with you: He reveals His heart in Scripture, and He listens when you pour out your heart to Him in prayer. But mark this, friendship with Christ walks hand in hand with obedience. "You are my friends," He says, "if you do whatsoever I command you." Do not neglect His ordinances, and be diligent in secret communion. When you feel the coldness of the world, run to those means of grace where His presence is promised. In due season the Lord may also send you faithful companions after His own heart, those with whom you may share holy fellowship and whose love for God will fan your own into a brighter flame. But till they come, and even after they come, let the Lord Jesus be your chief delight.

Now let me pray for you, as you have asked, and may the Holy Spirit carry the petition to the throne.
O compassionate High Priest, look upon this dear young soul weary and heavy-laden with loneliness. Show her afresh that life is worth living because You are living and have redeemed us. Comfort her heart with the felt presence of Your Spirit, the Comforter. In Your wisdom, raise up for her true and faithful friends who will walk beside her in the pilgrim way and stir up her love for You. Renew her youth like the eagle’s, and let hope spring up within her, even as a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
