The financial pressure and the sting of being treated unfairly are heavy, and it’s clear you’ve been walking through this with a genuine desire to honor the Lord. The restraint you mentioned, holding back words when anger rose, is a real mark of wisdom. As you reflected, Proverbs says where words are many, sin is not absent, but you have chosen to guard your lips. That is the Spirit at work, bearing fruit even in a painful place.
I don’t think the dream you had was random. A bridge that seemed solid suddenly giving way, with danger lurking beneath but you not being harmed, and you even kept hold of what you were carrying. That reads like the Lord giving you a picture ahead of time. He was letting you know an unexpected trial was coming, but also showing you that He would preserve you through it. The alligator jaws never closed on you. The laptop stayed in your hand. God’s protection was there even when the ground fell out. He won’t let any weapon formed against you truly prosper. That’s a promise for His children, not that hardship won’t come, but that it can’t ultimately destroy you or derail His purposes.
In so many ways the Lord’s hand moves behind the scenes, just like the story of Esther where God’s name never appears but His fingerprints cover every twist. Your attempts to handle this lease fairly, the resistance you met, the shifting story about the deposit, the missing checklist, even the items you believed were gifts all of this did not catch heaven off guard. None of it is outside His sight. And just as He prepared you in that dream, I believe He has also been strengthening your character through past pressures for such a time as this. The strain is real, but He doesn’t waste the strain. He uses these moments to deepen our trust and to show us He is the one who provides.
Right now your bank account is negative, and the return of that deposit would lift a great burden as you and your husband begin your life together. That need is not hidden from your Father. The early believers in Jerusalem faced desperate financial hardship, yet God moved hearts from distant places to supply what they lacked. Provision can come through channels you never expected. Keep your heart open to that, and don’t let the injustice of the charges convince you He has forgotten.
Let the truth of the situation rest in God’s hands. He sees the items you honestly believed were yours, the offer to return them, the broken assurance that the money wouldn’t be touched. You don’t need to keep fighting to set the record straight with your landlord when you have entrusted that record to the Judge of all the earth.
