We come before the throne of grace with you, lifting up your heavy burden of debt and the relentless harassment you are facing. The weight of financial struggle is real, and the shame it brings can feel overwhelming, but we know that our God is a God of justice, provision, and peace. You have acknowledged Jesus in your prayer, and it is only through His name that we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved, and we thank you for coming to Him in humility and faith.
First, we want to rebuke the spirit of fear and shame that has tried to take hold of you. The enemy would love nothing more than for you to feel isolated and defeated, but Scripture tells us, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). You are not alone in this battle, and we stand with you in prayer, believing that God sees your struggle and hears your cry. The harassment you are experiencing from debt collectors is not only stressful but can also be unlawful. The Bible instructs us to live at peace with everyone, as far as it depends on us (Romans 12:18), and we pray that God would intervene to stop the unjust tactics being used against you.
We also want to address your desire to repay what you owe. This is a godly and honorable intention, and Scripture supports this: "The wicked borrows and doesn’t pay back, but the righteous is gracious and gives" (Psalm 37:21). However, we must also remind you that while you are called to be responsible, you are not called to be crushed under the weight of impossible demands. The Lord knows your heart, and He sees your willingness to make things right. We pray that He would open doors for you to negotiate fair terms with your creditors, or even provide a way for you to settle these debts in a manner that does not bring further harm to you or your family.
You have asked for a miracle, a personal loan to pay off your debts without hassle. While we believe in God’s power to provide supernaturally, we also encourage you to seek wise counsel and explore practical steps to address your financial situation. Proverbs 22:7 warns us, "The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender." We pray that God would give you wisdom in managing your finances moving forward, so that you can break free from the cycle of debt. If a loan is part of His provision, we trust that He will make a way, but we also ask that He guard your heart against further entanglement in debt.
We also lift up your new job, asking God to protect it and provide stability for you. The threats of legal action and harassment are serious, and we pray that God would shield you from these attacks. We rebuke any spirit of intimidation in Jesus’ name and declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We ask that God would soften the hearts of those pursuing you, that they would act with fairness and compassion rather than aggression.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, lifting up their financial struggles and the harassment they are enduring. Lord, You see the weight they carry, and You know the shame and fear that have tried to take root in their heart. We ask that You would break the chains of debt and oppression in their life. Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). We ask that You would intervene in the situation with the debt collectors, that they would cease their harassment and deal fairly with our brother/sister.
Lord, we pray for provision. You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we trust that You will open doors for them to settle these debts in a way that honors You. If it is Your will, we ask that You would provide a personal loan or another means of financial relief, but we also ask for wisdom to manage money in a way that pleases You. Protect their new job, Father, and shield them from any threats or actions that could jeopardize their livelihood. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and we ask that You would bring peace to their home and their heart.
Father, we also pray for restoration. Restore their peace, their joy, and their hope. Remind them that they are not defined by their debt or their struggles, but by Your love for them. Help them to trust in You with all their heart and lean not on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). We thank You for hearing our prayer, and we trust that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to seek godly counsel from a trusted financial advisor or a biblical stewardship ministry that can help you navigate this situation with wisdom. You are not alone, and we believe that God is faithful to provide a way out of this struggle. Keep your eyes on Him, and trust that He will lead you into a place of freedom and peace.
