Prayer request

Gideon_Narayanan

Servant of All
1) We have paid a very huge lumsum amount to a person for House Lease. More than ### months have been passed, the wicked person & his wife have not yet returned the full amount with Bank Interest to us. We are praying to our God through the name of Jesus that the wicked person and his wife return the full amount with Bank Interest to us without any loss. We have taken Gold Loan for this Lease House and the interest is already increased and increasing day by day and which is a huge amount to be paid by us and it is very very difficult to repay the Gold Loan amount and interest to Banks.

The wicked person and his wife (both) are telling Lies and to hide one Lie, they are telling many more Lies. They are telling more lies to cover up a lie. We have met many times personally with the wicked person and his wife and explained over phone also our critical, problematic situation we are facing. Even though both the wicked person and his wife are telling more and more lies and purposely cheating us, they are not ready to return the full amount to us according to our critical situations.

If physical punishment is not able to give to the wicked, liar, cheater, fraud and his wife, then material punishment may be give to them. In case this is not able to give to the wicked, liar, cheater, fraud, then earthly consequences like sleepless night, mental disturbance, Loss of Peace, financial loss, family problems, Anxiety, Physical strain, sickness, Blockage in Success, Blessing Blockage, Inner emptyness etc., to be given by God to the wicked, liar, cheater, fraud and his wife enable them to repay our full amount with bank interest and after repent and turn to God. Without this earthly punishment, the wicked, Liar, cheater, fraud couples never ever repent and turn to God, since more than ### months have been passed and the wicked couples not have the God Fear and they know very well that God will not do any kind of punishment for their sin. Moreover, they know very well that God will wait till their death for repent and turn to God. Also the wicked couples know very well that God will wait up to their death to forgive them until their earthly life time to repentance, that is up to their death. If not repent and turn to God, then not punishment will be given, but judgment will be given by God to them.

Due to that we are facing a lot of consequences and problems in and around us and within our family. Due to Injustice we are facing a lot of problems in the family itself. Misunderstanding of each other within our family. Financial burden. Sleepless, mental tension, restless, unwanted thinking, wrong thinking, deciding bad decisions, etc.

We are very much upset with the wicked person who has received our money (Amount) and not yet returned our full amount to us. Why is God slow in acting? Due delay in Justice by God, we are losing hope, faith with God.

We have enquired about the wicked person and his wife in around that area and everybody has confirmed that he & his wife are Number one fraud, cheater and cheated many persons like us and also cheated local government department also. Hence, they have shifted far away from their own house and nobody knows their address. Whatever he speaks everything is Lies only. With this property (House) both are cheating many persons to give their house for lease till now.

No Justice to me. Injustice!!! This matter should be very very serious which should be solved immediately or urgently. Paying interest to Bank is huge. Hence, My hope with God ends today. My faith with God also decreased to Zero.

Without punishment how will human realize their wickedness, cheating, Lies, fraud? Also how will the wicked person/s realize their wrongdoing and which is correct to do?. On what ground or on what basis will the wicked person and his wife fear with God? or How will they have fear of God? The wicked person/s have more opportunities or more provisions to do such kind of activities like cheating many more, fraud, more lies with false commitments then cheating, etc... without punishment in the earth up to their death.

“Why should I be honest if the wicked are never punished?” - But not only myself but also my family is punished by many ways like financially, mentally, physically. We are suffering because of our honesty. No repentance, no turn to God, which is human nature without a severe punishment to the wicked person and his wife on earth. After death only final judgement, which is of no use to anybody. Or otherwise at the time of going to death i.e. after the life age is over, then only he will be punished and that is also of no use to anybody. Till that period he will again and again cheat many persons and spoil their lives. Also the honest persons' family will be destroyed against this wicked person and his wife.

God's Time is Perfect, but God's Time will be after 1000 years and that means after death only Justice!!! That means the wicked, fraud, and cheater will get Judgment after their death.

Then how can anybody put faith with God?. On what basis will human have put faith with God?. Without any good things happening, on what basis can anybody put faith with God?.

No Hope with our God. No Faith with our God.

The wicked person/s are not believing that God is there thats way they are doing cheating, fraud & forgery, theft, since God is Nowhere and they cannot get any kind of punishment will be in the earth. It is sure that without a severe punishment God to the wicked person and his wife WILL NOT REPENT AND TURN TO OUR GOD, since the both the wicked person and his wife is under control of Satan.

The Satan already stealing our peace, our faith, and even our hope in God’s goodness via this wicked person and his wife by the way of cheating, Lies, fraud, theft. Why has God not fought with the Wicked person/s and given punishment to both of them to enable their Satan (who is activating within the wicked person and his wife's heart) and the Satan's plan be destroyed by giving big punishment to the wicked by God.

(a) Physical Punishment - to be severe to the wicked person and his wife which is lifelong (up to death) suffering.
(b) Physical Punishment - if the wicked person & his wife are working, then his job should be lost and never should he get any job up to death.
(c) Physical Punishment - the wicked person & his wife's tongue should be decayed or cut-off, then only they cannot be able to tell lies, cheat.
(d) Physical Punishment - the wicked person & his wife's both hands to be cut-down or paralyzed or never should it be useful up to death. They have counted the money with these hands.
(e) Physical Punishment - the wicked person & his wife's son and daughter's education should be spoiled, because they are using the cheating money for their education.
(f) Material Punishment - the wicked person & his wife's own house should fall down in the ground/earth and be fully destroyed/demolished.
(g) Material Punishment - if the wicked person & his wife are doing/running a business, then heavy financial loss should occur.

God has to do the above, then only the wicked person and his wife will realize their mistakes, lies, cheating, fraud are sins and they will repent and turn to God.

(2) Members of our family have to get permanent jobs in government or public sector as per their educational qualifications. Till getting permanent jobs, God has to provide temporary jobs in Govt./PSU for another member.

(3) Marriage - For Family member: God has to show or give the identity of a better bridegroom who will be a doctor with better earnings or an engineer who is working in Govt./PSU with better earnings and with GOOD HABITS and no bad habits according to the Bible and marriage should occur at the earliest according to our God's time & will.

(4) My family member has attended a very important state government recruitment examination. Please pray that he gets this job position to enable him to glorify our God and explain regarding our God to the patients.

(5) We have to provide employment opportunities to educated & non-educated persons.

(6) We have to provide education to poor persons.

Why God not fight with the Wicked person/s and given punishment to both of them to enable the Satan and his plan be destroyed?

Also, no prayer requests are fulfilled (2 TO 6 also). Nothing is answered well. When will human keep faith? If any supernatural things happen or any promises given by anybody and which are to be fulfilled or done. But in my case nothing is fulfilled/solved/completed/success. In that case how can I believe God? On what ground do I have to put faith in God? Up to what time do I have to keep faith with God? How can you determine God's Time? How can you say God's Time is perfect? On what ground is God's Time Perfect? When will God's Time come?

You say God is the Judge!!! God will do the Justice!!! Also Provider!!! God is Powerful!!! If this is right, then why is our amount not arranged by God by the Liar, Cheater to us? Or returned the full amount without any loss to us by the wicked person/s? If God is maintaining Justice, then why should I seek through Legally? Why should I go to Court? Why should I believe or put faith in Human? That means you want to convey to me that God is now Powerless, Not Judge, in His Kingdom Injustice. God is Merciless!!! God is Graceless!! God cannot do anything on Earth? Judgement will be after the death of the wicked persons!!! God is not faithful!!!

I was keeping faith till now. But unfortunately, I have been forced to inform the above due to lack of Justice from God. Injustice is given to me and our family by God to suffer because of our Honesty. Honesty is not the best policy to live in Christianity that I have learned for the past ### months. I was 100% faith with God that He can do anything for me and He will fight with the enemies, Liar, Cheater, Fraud. But God will not fight up to the death of Cheater, Fraud, Liar's but final judgment will be give after their death!!!

Without money can any Human Live on Earth? To see God also Money is very very important!!!! Without money God will not entertain to see Him!!!! If any Christian loses their money by the way of cheating by others, will they pray for the wicked person's repentance or get back the amount? As you said that Christians should not pray for their money and pray for the wicked person to repent and turn to God!!! If in that case the Honest will take the decision to suicide, since without money the Honest cannot be able to survive or live on earth. God will punish only the Honest people only. Honest will get punishment from God through physical punishment and material punishment (i.e., loss of money) and due to that late judgement, we are suffering and suffering. The wicked person is enjoying with others' money and doing wicked activities till his death without earthly punishment by Government and by God. People will turn to do the wicked things in the future, since there will not be any punishment by God but small and imperfect punishment by government.

We stand with you in this deeply painful and unjust situation, lifting your burden before the throne of grace. The betrayal, deceit, and financial hardship you are enduring are not unseen by our Heavenly Father, who is just and righteous in all His ways. We acknowledge the weight of your suffering, the sleepless nights, the mounting debt, the erosion of trust, and the crisis of faith this has caused. You are not alone in this battle, and we join you in crying out for justice, restoration, and divine intervention.

First, we must address the foundation of your faith. You have expressed frustration and doubt about God’s timing, justice, and even His power. Yet Scripture is clear: "The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9 WEB). His delay is not indifference, it is mercy, even for those who have wronged you. But we also affirm that God is a God of justice. "He will judge the world in righteousness. He will administer judgment to the peoples in uprightness" (Psalm 9:8 WEB). The wicked will not escape His judgment, whether in this life or the next. However, we must also examine our own hearts. While it is righteous to seek justice, we must guard against bitterness and a desire for vengeance that goes beyond God’s will. "Beloved, don’t avenge yourselves, but rather give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord’" (Romans 12:19 WEB). The punishments you have listed, physical harm, financial ruin, the suffering of their children, are not aligned with God’s heart for redemption. Even in judgment, His desire is for repentance, not destruction. We must pray for their conviction, not their annihilation.

We also rebuke the lies of the enemy that have crept into your heart. Satan has stolen your peace, your hope, and even your faith, but he has not stolen God’s promises. You ask, "Why should I be honest if the wicked are never punished?" Yet Scripture declares, "The integrity of the upright shall guide them, but the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them" (Proverbs 11:3 WEB). Your honesty is not in vain. God sees your suffering, and He will repay. "For God is not unrighteous, so as to forget your work and the labor of love which you showed toward his name, in that you served the saints, and still do serve them" (Hebrews 6:10 WEB). Do not let the enemy convince you that dishonesty is the path to survival. God is your provider, and He will sustain you.

Now, let us pray together in the authority of Jesus’ name:

Heavenly Father,
We come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brothers and sisters who have been betrayed and defrauded. Lord, You see the injustice they have endured, the lies, the theft, the mounting debt, and the erosion of their faith. We ask that You would arise as their Defender and their Vindicator. "Break the arm of the wicked. As for the evil man, seek out his wickedness until you find none" (Psalm 10:15 WEB). Expose the deceit of those who have wronged them, and let every hidden thing be brought to light.

Father, we pray for the repentance of the wicked man and his wife. Soften their hearts, Lord. Let them see the gravity of their sin and turn to You in genuine remorse. "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon" (Isaiah 55:7 WEB). If they refuse to repent, we ask that You would bring earthly consequences that lead them to accountability, not out of vengeance, but out of Your perfect justice.

Lord, we also pray for restoration. You are the God who "restores what the locusts have eaten" (Joel 2:25 WEB). Return to them what has been stolen, whether through the repayment of the debt, unexpected provision, or divine favor in their financial affairs. Release them from the burden of this gold loan and the weight of its interest. "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want" (Psalm 23:1 WEB). Let them experience Your provision in tangible ways.

Father, we ask for Your peace to guard their hearts and minds. The enemy has stolen their rest, their hope, and even their trust in You. But You are the God who "gives songs in the night" (Job 35:10 WEB). Restore their faith. Remind them that You are working even when they cannot see it. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says the Lord, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB).

We also lift up their other requests before You:
- For permanent government jobs for their family members, that You would open doors no man can shut.
- For the marriage of their family member, that You would lead them to a godly spouse who honors You.
- For the success of their family member in the state government recruitment examination.
- For opportunities to provide employment and education to the poor, that You would bless their hands to be a blessing to others.

Lord, we declare that You are their Judge, their Provider, and their Defender. You are not powerless, nor are You indifferent. You are working all things together for their good, even when they cannot see it. Strengthen their faith. Renew their hope. Let them taste Your goodness even in this trial.

And finally, Lord, we ask for wisdom. If legal action is needed, guide their steps. If patience is required, give them the grace to wait. If forgiveness is the path to freedom, soften their hearts to extend it, not for the sake of their enemies, but for their own healing.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who has overcome the world, the One who is our Justice and our Peace. Amen.

Now, let us offer some biblical encouragement and correction where needed:

1. God’s Justice vs. Our Desire for Vengeance
You have expressed a deep longing for the wicked to face severe punishment, physical harm, financial ruin, even the suffering of their children. While this is a natural response to injustice, we must align our hearts with God’s heart. "The Lord is gracious, merciful, slow to anger, and of great loving kindness" (Psalm 145:8 WEB). His desire is for repentance, not destruction. That does not mean He will not judge, He will. But we must leave room for His mercy, even for those who have wronged us. "Do not say, ‘I will do to him as he has done to me; I will render to the man according to his work’" (Proverbs 24:29 WEB).

2. Faith in the Midst of Delay
You have asked, "Why is God slow in acting?" His delay is not a sign of weakness, but of patience. "The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9 WEB). His timing is perfect, even when it feels unbearable. We must trust that He is working, even when we cannot see it.

3. The Danger of Bitterness
The enemy would love for you to become bitter, to lose faith, and to turn away from God. But Scripture warns, "Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it" (Hebrews 12:15 WEB). Guard your heart. Do not let the actions of the wicked poison your soul.

4. God’s Provision in the Midst of Lack
You have said, "Without money, can any human live on earth?" While money is necessary for survival, it is not our ultimate provider. God is. "But my God shall supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19 WEB). He may not provide in the way you expect, but He will provide. Trust Him to meet your needs, even in this financial crisis.

5. The Call to Forgiveness
This is perhaps the hardest truth to accept, but it is essential: "If you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:14-15 WEB). Forgiveness is not about excusing their sin, it is about freeing yourself from the prison of bitterness. It does not mean you must trust them again, but it does mean releasing them to God’s justice.

6. The Hope of Eternal Justice
You have said, "Judgment will be after the death of the wicked." While that is true, we must also remember that God’s justice is not limited to the afterlife. He can and does bring earthly consequences to the wicked. But we must trust Him to do it in His way and His time. "For the Lord loves justice, and doesn’t forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off" (Psalm 37:28 WEB).

---

Finally, we must address the salvation of those who have wronged you. You have said they are under the control of Satan, and that is likely true. But remember, "God desires all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:4 WEB). Pray for their salvation, not just their punishment. Pray that their hearts would be broken by their sin and that they would turn to Christ. This is not easy, but it is the path to true freedom, for them and for you.

You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. God sees your tears, He hears your cries, and He will act. Hold fast to Him. Do not let go of your faith, even when it feels like He is silent. "But those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31 WEB).

We stand with you. We pray with you. And we believe with you that God will bring justice, restoration, and peace. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

We read your words and our hearts sank with yours. The weight you’re carrying, the financial strain, the mounting interest on the gold loan, the deep frustration with people who have treated you unjustly, is crushing. We’re so sorry you’re walking through this.

When unfairness drags on and God feels silent, it’s painfully easy to lose hope and conclude He doesn’t care. You’ve been honest about that, and we hear you. Yet even when our feelings scream the opposite, God is still just, still present, still working, even when we can’t see how. This one terrible experience doesn’t tell the whole truth about who He is for you. The anger and the ache for things to be made right are understandable, but please don’t let bitterness become another thief, stealing more than the money already has.

We’d gently encourage you, alongside your prayers, to seek sound legal counsel. The courts exist to address fraud and dishonesty; that’s not a lack of faith, but a practical step God can use for accountability and resolution. You don’t have to carry this alone.

Lord, you see this family’s distress. We ask for your merciful provision, open a path for what was taken to be returned, ease the crushing debt, and give them wisdom. Calm the storm within them. Guard their hearts from the poison of resentment, and let them sense your nearness, even in this dark time. We entrust the people who have done wrong into your perfect justice; help us to trust that you see, you care, and you will make all things right. In Jesus’ name, amen.

My dear soul,

I have read your outpouring with a heavy heart, for I perceive that you are in the very depths of bitterness and despondency. Your words are scorched with the fire of affliction, and I do not doubt that you have suffered a great wrong. Yet I must speak plainly, as a watchman of the Lord: you have allowed this trial to poison your faith and to sour your view of the Almighty. You ask why God is slow, and you cry out for the immediate punishment of the wicked. But I must tell you that your demand for physical calamities upon these sinners, that they might repent through chastisement, is not born of the Spirit of Christ. Have you forgotten how the Son of God prayed for His murderers, “Father, forgive them”? The vengeance you seek belongs to the Lord alone, and He will repay in His own time, either in this life or in the judgment to come. Your impatience for justice has become a snare, for it has led you to charge God with injustice, powerlessness, and unfaithfulness. This is a grievous sin. You are letting the wickedness of others rob you of the one treasure that can sustain you: a heart fixed, trusting in the Lord.

You say your hope and faith are ended, that they have decreased to zero. But faith is not faith if it depends on what is seen, on swift answers, or on the overthrow of our enemies. The faith that pleases God is the faith that clings to Him when all earthly props give way, when the night is darkest, and when evil seems to triumph. Remember that “without faith it is impossible to please God.” It is when we are without strength, legally, morally, spiritually, that Christ died for the ungodly. You feel your case is ruined, that you have no power to recover your money or your peace. You are, by your own confession, without strength. Then this is your hour to cast yourself upon the God who raises the dead! Do not say, “Why should I be honest if the wicked are never punished?” The affliction of the righteous is often the soil in which the sweetest fruits of the Spirit ripen. Your suffering is not a sign of God’s absence but of His refining work, if you will yield to it.

I hear your cry, “No justice! Why does God not act?” But consider the testimony of the Word: the Lord is not slow in the way that you count slowness. He is longsuffering, not willing that any should perish but that all should reach repentance. I do not excuse the wickedness of those who have defrauded you; their sin is great and their lies are an abomination. Yet it is not your place to demand that God strike them with earthly plagues to satisfy your sense of injury. What if God, in His inscrutable wisdom, is giving them space to repent, even as He gave you space when you were dead in your trespasses? And what if He is using this fiery trial to teach you that your treasure is not in gold, nor in houses, nor in the repayment of debts, but in Christ Jesus alone? You say that without money one cannot live, and you have brooded upon suicide. I urge you: cast that dark thought from you! Did not the Lord sustain Elijah by the brook and by a poor widow’s handful of meal? Look again at the forty years in the wilderness: “You have lacked nothing.” The same Lord who fed Israel with manna and brought water from the rock will not forsake His own, even in financial ruin.

You ask on what ground you can still have faith. I point you to the cross. There is the solid rock. There, justice was satisfied when the Son of God bore the penalty of sin. There, love shone in its fiercest glory. If God spared not His own Son, how shall He not with Him freely give us all things? Your circumstances are not the measure of His faithfulness. Your feelings are not the proof of His presence. The promise stands: “He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.” Fix your heart! Cry out, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” Do not cast away your confidence, which has great recompense of reward.

I do not ask you to pretend that the wrong is small, or to cease seeking lawful means of redress. If you must go to court, go with prayer and in the fear of God, not with a spirit of vengeance. But above all, turn your eyes from stewing over the wickedness of your debtors to looking upon your own soul. Is there any root of bitterness springing up within you? Are you not in danger of harboring hatred, which is akin to murder? Have you not, in your fury, spoken things against the character of God that you must repent of with tears? You have said, “God is merciful only to the wicked until death,” and that is a calumny drawn from the pit. God’s mercy is extended to all while they live, but His judgments are often seen even now. Yet your preoccupation with their punishment and your demands for their tongues to be cut off reveals that you have been feeding on gall.

My counsel to you is this: go to your secret place this very hour. Fall upon your knees and confess the sins of your anger, your unbelief, your proud resentment. Ask the Lord to forgive you for charging Him foolishly. Then pray for those who have despitefully used you, not that they may be tortured, but that they may be awakened by the Spirit, brought to godly sorrow, and saved from the eternal fire. This is the mind of Christ. Then, having committed your cause to the Judge of all the earth who does right, rise and do the immediate duty before you, pay what you can toward your debts, seek counsel about the gold loan, and trust that God will supply your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, whether through the repayment of these funds or by some other channel. I do not promise you that the money will come back on the morrow, but I do promise that those who wait upon the Lord shall not be ashamed.

Your prayer requests for jobs, marriage, and ministry are all known to Him. But you will never see them answered by looking at the storm; you must look at the Pilot. “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he shall give you the desires of your heart”, when your heart is aligned with His. I charge you to call upon a few seasoned, godly believers in your church to lay hands upon you and to pray for you, for you are in a desperate struggle with despair and with the evil one. Do not hide your anguish any longer, but let the body of Christ bear your burden. And when you are strengthened, go and testify to others what the Lord has done for your soul, for the grace you have received is not for yourself alone.

May the blessed Comforter visit your trembling spirit, and may you yet rejoice in Him, though the fig tree does not blossom and there be no herd in the stalls. The Lord shall yet give you the song of the prisoner who leaps free, for His Son died to set you at liberty from the dungeon of unbelief.

Your servant in the bonds of Christ Jesus.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

What you have written tears at the heart, and I do not dismiss the weight of your affliction. To be cheated of such a sum, to see the wicked prosper while your own family sinks under the load of debt, to cry out for justice and feel met only with silence, this is a furnace that tries the soul to its uttermost. But listen to me, for I must speak plainly. The sickness that devours you is not only the injustice of that wicked pair, but the tumor of wrath and the love of money that has thickened over the eye of your faith. You have allowed this loss to become an idol, and in your demand for immediate, visible punishment you are fashioning a god after your own anger, not the God who hung upon the Cross for enemies.

You ask why God does not strike them with the plagues you have catalogued. Open your ears. Has he not commanded you, “Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you”? You want tongues to rot and hands to wither, yet the very tongue that prays such things becomes diseased, and the hand that writes such curses grows palsied before heaven. It is more your duty to forgive trespasses than to recover money. If you forgive a debt of gold, you do not yet imitate God; but if you forgive this wrong, you become like the Master who shed His blood for those who reviled Him. Do you imagine that the loss of money is the greatest evil? Far worse is the corruption of your own soul when you breathe out vengeance. The wicked couple may be enslaved to Satan, but anger and a thirst for their earthly torment will drag you into the same pit.

You cry, “Why should I be honest if the wicked are never punished?” Consider Job. He wrestled naked with disaster, yet he did not charge God with injustice. He lost everything, and what was restored to him after he had wrestled nobly was not the same wealth but a new creation of grace. If you bear this loss with thanksgiving, refusing to run to the diviners of worldly power or to nurse fantasies of revenge, your reward will be greater than any sum of money. God may restore your funds, or He may not, but if He does not, it is because He is offering you a treasure that moth and rust cannot corrupt. The love of money is the thick humor that blinds you; you see only the earthly balance sheet, while the heavenly reckoning stands open before the Judge.

You say the wicked fear nothing because God is slow. Do not mistake patience for vacancy. The long-suffering of God which you despise is the very rope that drags sinners to repentance. Those who defraud others store up wrath for the day of judgment, and their prosperity is a fleeting dream. But what is that to you? Your business is to cleanse your own heart. How can you demand that they repent under torture, while you yourself refuse to repent of this bitter, murderous rage? Repentance is a gift of kindness, not the fruit of severed limbs. If they will not turn without punishment, then pray that the kindness of God might lead them to a changed mind, even as His kindness now calls you to release the debt of sin you hold against your own debtors.

You ask on what ground you can still believe. On this ground: Christ died for the ungodly, and His promise is not measured by the interest at the bank. Has He not said, “Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you”? The money you gave in lease you thought was a transaction, but God receives it as a loan to Himself when you commit the cause into His hands without returning evil for evil. If you had lost the money and given thanks, you would have already gained back more than the principal. But now you are in danger of losing both the gold and your soul.

Cast off this fever. The family strife, the sleeplessness, the dark thoughts, they are the wages of your obsession. Seek first the kingdom and His righteousness, and even the temporal needs will be met in His time. Go, and instead of drafting a charter of punishments, make a new prayer: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do; and forgive me, for I knew not what I was doing when I let hatred devour my faith.” Put your trust not in visible justice but in the hidden work of the Cross. The honest do not suffer in vain, for their light affliction is preparing an eternal weight of glory. I do not dismiss your need for sustenance; work honestly, seek lawful means, but do not make wealth the measure of God’s faithfulness.

Let this trial become a school of patience. The wicked man may yet be brought low without your wishing it; but if he dies unrepentant, his judgment will be all the more severe. That is not your concern. Your concern is whether you will stand before Christ with a heart full of mercy or a fist full of grudges. I exhort you therefore: forgive, and as you forgive, watch how the fever breaks. Release the debt to God. He is the Judge; He will do justice in the appointed season. But you, become an imitator of Him who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return. That is the only victory over Satan, and the only path to peace for your troubled house.
