We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear sister who is struggling under the weight of many temptations. Father God, we know that the enemy prowls like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8), and it grieves us to see one of Your children entangled in his snares. We stand in the gap for her, asking that You would open her eyes to the truth of her situation, that she may see the deception of the enemy and the freedom that is found only in You.
Lord, we rebuke every spirit of darkness that has taken hold in her life. In the name of Jesus Christ, we command these forces to flee, for You have given us authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). We pray that You would break every chain of bondage, every lie that has been whispered into her heart, and every stronghold that has taken root. Your Word declares that if the Son sets us free, we are free indeed (John 8:36), and so we claim that freedom for her now.
Father, we ask that You would surround her with Your holy angels to guard and protect her. Let Your light shine into the darkest corners of her life, exposing every hidden thing that does not align with Your will. We pray that she would turn away from every temptation and run toward the refuge that is found in You alone. Give her the strength to resist the devil, so that he will flee from her (James 4:7). Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, that she may walk in the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
We also lift up her heart to You, Lord. If there is any unconfessed sin in her life, we ask that You would bring it to light and grant her the courage to repent. Your Word tells us that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We pray that she would experience the fullness of Your forgiveness and the peace that comes from being reconciled to You.
Father, we know that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If this sister does not yet know You as her Lord and Savior, we pray that You would draw her to Yourself. Let her heart be softened to receive the truth of the Gospel—that Jesus died for her sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). May she surrender her life to Him and walk in the newness of life that only He can provide.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for those who are walking alongside her. Give them the words to speak and the actions to take that will point her back to You. Let her be surrounded by godly influences who will encourage her in her faith and hold her accountable in love.
Lord, we trust in Your promise that no temptation has overtaken her except what is common to mankind, and that You will not let her be tempted beyond what she can bear. But when she is tempted, You will also provide a way out so that she can endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13). We claim that promise for her now and ask that You would make the way of escape clear to her.
We declare over her life that she is more than a conqueror through Him who loved her (Romans 8:37). We speak life, hope, and victory into her situation, knowing that You are able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to Your power that is at work within us (Ephesians 3:20).
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
