We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your father in prayer. The Word of God reminds us in James 5:14-15, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." We stand on this promise, believing that God hears our cries and is able to bring healing and restoration.
Father God, we come before Your throne of grace, asking for Your healing touch upon this beloved father. You are the Great Physician, the One who knit him together in his mother’s womb. We ask that You would drive out the sickness that has taken hold, restoring strength to his body and peace to his spirit. Lord, we know that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a contrite spirit. Comfort him in this time of weakness, reminding him of Your unfailing love and mercy.
We also pray for wisdom for those caring for him—whether doctors, family, or friends. Guide their hands and minds, Lord, so that they may act in accordance with Your will. May this trial draw him closer to You, deepening his trust in Your sovereignty and goodness.
We rebuke this sickness in the mighty name of Jesus, declaring that by His stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). No weapon formed against Your children shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We stand firm in faith, believing that Your will is perfect and that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).
If there are areas in his life where repentance is needed, we pray that You would bring conviction and lead him into a place of restoration with You. Forgive him, Lord, and cleanse him from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). May he walk in the fullness of Your grace and experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
We trust in You, Lord, for You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We declare that this sickness will not have the final word, but that Your healing power will prevail. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
